As for the OP, I happen to agree to an extent.

SWTORs abilities are still bloated and haven't gone through sufficient iterations yet. They need to be stream-lined and consolidated a little.

The "only usable vs. weak mobs" abilities should be the first to go and many others could be consolidated/merged into more interesting abilities.

Bladestorm/Scream could be a conal attack making Cyclone Smash redundant. Sundering Strike/Assault could have its CD removed, making Strike obsolete.

Just cutting/merging ~5 abilities per class would go a long way towards making this game a lot less convoluted.
Yeah the Strike/SunderingAssault is another perfect example... But as you see some people insetad of watching battlefield prefer watching bars, cooldowns and overlays acompanied with piano playing.

don't quite get it why everybody thinks that merc arsenal is just using 3 or 4 buttons? I have keybinded 8 abilities on my mouse alone + 1234 Q, E, R, F, G, shift+ F.

Streamlining is the death of RPG. There is not much RPG left in MMOs when you have more possibilities to play one class in a shooter then a MMORPG.
Consolidating skills and removing CDs makes it a hack&slash not a RPG.
Yes, some classes have way too many usefull things you have to use at the right time, but calling for streamlining every class is just ignorance.

This aint no fluffybear island.

PS. I just checked. My Sage has 22 essential spells I have to use.+buffs, adrenals, relics and healpots. And that's in PvP only.

I have ` for targeting allies, and find Z,W,D,S,B,,H,G and even J (for forcequake and XS freighter flyby depending on the class) for AoE abilities. For extra abilities I use Shift, such as shift + R for deliverance.

I didn't say that, but it has by far the least amount of abilities.

Actually, headshot and tumult have saved me more times than I can think. Actually, I haven't used headshot in ages, thanks for reminding me not to allow my 3 key to rot
