Pick your poison. If you want large scale battles, you are probably going to have to trade off higher polygon count player models to get it. Might have to end up sacrificing the combat system to have a simpler abilities too - so they are not so heavy on database queries.
Are you on the Bioware payroll? I mean honestly, anyone who has read my posts directed at you, and your posts directed at me has to see you are just a fanboy in denial who dances around my points and just makes his own points things that are random and that aren't even relevant to the argument.

This games engine fails for open world PVP, and no amount of patches will ever change this heavily sharded game where you are discouraged from engaging in PVP on most planets do to fraction locations and quest areas that are segregated.

WOW sucks, it's successful because of casuals who also play angry birds in their spare time and are easily entertained. Most fans of PVP in MMO's would tell you Warhammers PVP was a lot better than WOW's even if it wasn't perfect.

1.2 makes valor rank worthless pretty much. The new War Hero gear is better than BM, and can be worn by fresh 50's

Yet that's exactly how the sainted could-do-no-wrong DAoC frontiers worked.

DAoC did plenty wrong. But when it comes to PVP, a decade ago they had better ideas then Bioware has today.

Agreed, and 1.2 is being held back to retain subs, which is disgusting. There is NO reason many of the fixes in 1.2 cannot be deployed now or in the weeks prior for that matter. It's all a scam for the May earnings report.
Damn you've been sliced in two.

So if I don't immediately jump on the failtrain wagon and yell, "Amen brother!", to your rants on how this game sucks - then I must be on Bioware's payroll, eh?

No. I'm not.

I've played MMOs for more than a decade. I've raided in EQ1. I've PvP'd and raided in WoW and I've PvP'd and raided in TOR. You can add some other MMOs in there like Rift, EVE, LoTRO and brief stint in Conan.

I enjoy Bioware games. I also enjoy Blizzard games. I'm not a fan of EA, though they have published some games that I enjoy.

Open world PvP is irrelevant to this game. It's also irrelevant to WoW, which is what TOR is based heavily upon.

Open world PvP WILL ALWAYS be irrelevant in a game that does not provide mechanics for faction/guild zone ownership. You knew this before you ever bought the game and to come to the forums and cry about how bad open world PvP is now is less than intellectually honest.

We all knew we would not have RvR in this game. It's no surprise.

Go ahead and poke fun at the backbone of the MMO community - it won't score you any points out there in game or in the real world, where those "casuals who also play angry birds in their spare time and are easily entertained" are actually paying the bills that keep the lights on in the server datacenters.

If Warhammer was such a great game, then where is it now? If the masses of MMO players, at large, truly were seeking the best PvP experience EVAR - then where is Warhammer? where is Age of Conan? where is DAoC?

Seems to me that it's the "casual, PvE-centric" MMOs that are actually staying afloat in this recessive world economy.

Do I wish there was a successful game on the market with awesome open-world PvP? sure I do. There won't be though as long as MMO's hold to the concept of open world questing and gear being the only factor of progression. Open world PvP will be a side-show at best. Allowing faction ownership of land destroys questing for the losers and this infuriates the playerbase.

Please, use your brain instead of just tossing the "fanboi" label around without thinking.

Let's be honest here, at the guild summit no real information about open world pvp was given out except Ilum is being reworked. Most questions was answered with a, Yes we have thought about that, or yes thats on our wall of crazy ideas.

I think Bioware has no real plans for Open world PVP other than reworking Ilum and adding a warzone here and there. They designed the planets so you hardly see the other faction while leveling. There are no open world objectives on any of the other planets for pvp. They didn't mention adding open world objective except for ILUM.

I'm starting to think Bioware doesn't care for the pvp crowd.
Paranoia and suspicion never helped anyone, unless you're trying to avoid being killed.

But whose to say Bioware doesn't have resident snipers following us who complain with orders to kill as soon as we stop paying them a monthly subscription fee?

This http://www.gamebreaker.tv/mmorpg/rock-your-world/ is the answer to world PvP (not in this game though since they pretty much killed Ilum by letting you finish the dailies/weekly in WZ).

As a PvPer I'll be switching to GW2 soon as it's out. I ain't waiting for another year or so & "hope" that BioFail would address world pvp. What makes you think they will get to it when there are so many minor easy to fix bugs that they still haven't fixed for months?

A few examples: random loading screen (star wars logo), randomly kicking you to character selection screen while entering WZ on the fleet, etc. etc.

Are you totally unaware that the people who were Mythic at the time (created DAoC) are now Bioware?
