Because the majority of players in this game are carebears pretending to be PvPers, i.e. they PvP for gear. Not hard to understand really.

The majority of players don't want a good fight (PvP). They just want their gear and to be done (PvE). This is the case on both PvE and PvP servers.

That is why the change is so bad. It doesn't encourage better PvP or fighting. In fact, it does the opposite. It encourages players to cadillac after they get their 4 medals or just AFK. If peeps have already completed their 3 WZ win daily, it will be even worse, especially for players that are already BMs who don't need Valor anymore. The medal cap is just fail, period.

Cba reading through 12 pages but to OP:

4 medals give you 2k valor. Winning the match and scoring some objective points along the way nets you another ~1.2 - 1.5k valor. So no, going AFK isn't a good idea. And hf finding a team that's willing to help the other team in winning just so you can quickly queue for the next wz. What the **** kind of idea is it anyway.? You play for "UBER PURPLZ" or to have fun beating others?

Anyone remember beating SNES games on uber hard mode and all you get was a pixilated Samus in her Zero suit and you were **** bricks because Samus was a GIRL!

Hell most games just gave you a "Good Job Succ***aaaaa!"

Entitlement indeed.
One of the better quotes of this entire forum tbh.

Ok just got in game since the patch and ran my first WZ.

Team totally sucked, people bailed just like any other time. I only got 4 medals, we lost...

But I still got just as many comms as I did in a WIN with -8- medals prior.

Oh yeah this change really helps people focus on winning a hell of a lot when you can lose and be just as well off as winning before.

Terrible change.

If they all gave up, I assume it's because they all decided a win was impossible. Before the change, they would have gone to farm kills in the corners, now they do what? Just stand around? So what? Neither activity affects the outcome.
This. Those that give up after 4 medals were those that would just killfarm in the corners/middle of huttball and not even pay attention to the ball. They are the same people that "guard" the one node you ahve in a losing alderaan game. Its ok guys, us 4 here have this node down pat- now go take another one! >.>

Fail players are fail, all there is too it.

Honestly the change was a good one. No longer do you feel the pressure of kill farming Vs winning. If you go after the objectives- its very rare you wont' get at least 4 medals. Also.. wins are a good bit more valor (1k+/50%?). So if you really wanted to grind valor you'd play to win.

I always had a suspicion that a good chunk of medal farmers did it because A) they didn't think they could actually win or B) figured winning was too much effort. Basically they made up all their many QQ reasons to defend it (premades! SORCS USING TRACER MISSILIES! the system is bunked! blah blah blah).

For me at least, pug pvp is fun in this game, mainly because I hardly ever see a premade.

However a few points on the current system:
  • Medal cap at 4 is fine, if you actually try to win you can still get 4 medals while doing you're job, provided the other team don't go AFK after 1-0. This also stops people just medal farming.
  • Valor rewards are ok, but you should get double for winning the game, 1K of a difference isn't really that much of an incentive.
  • Objective medals should be on a different system and not capped at all.

Than current system promotes the style of, get 4 medals; run into the wall while watching TV, or stealth run around the map if you can, after you're fully champ and grinding to valor rank 60.

A few points on things that would be nice:
  • Not getting kicked out of your group when you come out of a warzone.
  • Ranked PVP with cross server queue, which you can join if you wish, premade or not.
  • Expertise should not be capped, as it's eventually going to cause people to get the cap and then stack raiding gear (being done already), PVE and PVP gear should be completly seperate, IE no expertise mods, it's only on the gear, same for PVE have a stat that's only on gear that effects damage taken and done to operation mobs (Only Op mobs now people)
  • Deserter debuff which won't let you rejoin for 30mins (Doesn't apply on a legit disconnect)
  • More maps, for same faction PVP.

Flame away, but before you start:

41 Rank Valor
6 Cent, Rest Champ
Don't care about BM title or gear
Playing for fun

I hate WZs and have since launch, I prefer Ilum pvp to WZ's and thats my choice.

The new change forces me to play WZs now, so I just get my three kills and afk for the rest of the match.

I don't care about the wz daily or the valor. I use to log in, do the ilum daily quick then go raid. Now I afk in WZ's to get my kills since Ilum is empty.

If you like WZ's thats fine, I dont knock you, I just don't. I use to be able to get my ilum weekly done in an hour and a half on tuesday. Now its a WZ grind since that zone is empty.

So to everyone pissed off they have afk'ers in their WZ group, thanks BW. I'd rather be anywhere else, but I was dumb enough to buy the six month sub plan.

Live and learn.
