I'm worried about not having enough stuff to work towards in the game. A rating system will make sure high rated players will play other high rated players so i don't see the problem. More stuff to work towards and achieve the better.

I think the only one here worried about fighitng people in better gear is you since you constantly bring it up. Let me guess, you were stuck at 1700 rating for most of your WoW career?

Looking at your other non troll replies it's clear you see the need for gear progression yet you want to completely remove it and offer nothing in return? The game will flat out die.

If you are worried about that, then clearly you haven't been reading anyone's posts, where we've proposed alternate things you can "work towards in the game". Please stop being intentionally dense.

I wouldn't be okay with it.

Not because I NEED some sort of gear advantage but because having goals to shoot for encourages more pvp. Without progression you get your fill and move on. PVP in mmos these days (particularly in instanced battlegrounds/warzones) just isn't deep enough to be entertaining as a standalone activity with no progression.

I also enjoy raiding but I wouldn't raid much just for the sake of raiding if there wasn't rewards to get from it as well.

It's a staple part of MMOs. There should be some grind, just try to make the grind fun (and I think the pvp grind is fun, actually). Then you get to grab all the carrots along the way.

Basically:

PVP: Not bad, gets old after a while.

Collecting gear: Not bad, gets old after a while.

PVP and collecting gear: Fun.

I wouldnt mind if we were given our gear at all. I said i would prefer this from lvl one. I'm a PvPer not a gear whore. Some of my friends disagree though :P
Starcraft 2 > All Games... Darn you R/L friends and MMOs!

I consider myself a competent PvPer. A lot of people in MMO's these days, however, seem to think that time invested in PvP should get you better gear, to show how good you are. This is a FLAWED argument. IMO, you should not be given -better- gear if you are a -better- pvper. Better PvPers should win through skill, not gear.

I'm happy with how the Valor system will work. Aesthetic rewards for PvPers, but keeping the gear level within attainable reach for -anyone- who wants to PvP. This way, we'll see players rise to the top because of skill, and not because of their glowing items.
I'm with you on this one, but personally ranking should give you about +1% advantage in gear though, thats about it.

But I like how you can get some aesthetic rewards for doing rated wz, so you can show off .

I think PvP shouldn't have gear progression. I understand that PvE needs it, to have the feeling of achievement and progression. Before ranked ladder, the progression in PvP has been gear only, which I understand. After ranked matches, however, that ladder progression is all I need and yes, everybody should have the same chances of winning with GOOD PLAY, NOT GEAR.

I was kinda hoping that the solution of new gear but no valor requirement would satisfy all.
It's got the gear progression there for those who want it, but it's not so much tied to the amount of time you play (I was valor 69 in 2.19.2012 when I quit and I played waaay too much. The grind was ok, cuz it really was all you got, to have a sense of achievement)

But then I remembered that everybody wants to whine and never say anything positive. Good choice BW and the Guild Summit was awesome, my faith in the devs is restored. Keep up the good work (more warzones!!!).

EDIT: Oh and one thing. I am not at all annoyed of that 'omg now the n00bs get bm+ gear so easy now, I wasted so much time!!!'. I was there first. So, when we have t99 gear, should the fresh lvl50 have to grind all those 98 tiers before they can fight as equals with you? Grow up.

The day when everybody gets the battlemaster gear so easily and there will be no challenge.

I WILL QUIT THIS GAME.

Why we played through level 1 to 50.

The first minute of the game stars, lets give all the gears,10 million credits to the players and make them instant level 50.

Is this your point?

Why are you playing a computer game if there is no goal there.

You are talking that skill is more important than gear. Yes it is true but don't forget that geared person has spent much more time than you.%99 more skilled than you.

Practice makes perfect and must be rewarded.

The goal in PvP is to be better than the other guy and thus achieve victory over them. That's always my goal. I don't want to win because of gear.

It is rewarded...by being a better player.

It seriously feels like some of you want an new stat added called, "Time Spent". It has no DR and gives better returns than Expertise, Power or your Primary stat. Then you'd be happy with PvP, because just staying logged on all day would mean that you win.
