Legacy System now DEMANDS 16 char slots per server

After yesterday's guild summit, it became painfully obvious to me that the combination of the Legacy system and dual class spec, demands there be 16 char slots per account. I'll explain:

Legacy system rewards having characters in both factions.

Advanced class system creates 8 classes per faction.

So to have every advanced class in your Legacy, given that dual classing won't span advanced classes, you need 8 characters of each faction. That's 16 characters.

Something needs to budge. Either allow dual class to span advanced classes, or allow 16 characters per server.

Personally, I'd like 16 per server, because I agree with BioWare that the advanced classes are different enough that you should dual spec across them...but then just open up char slots...Possibly due to Legacy? Have a level 50?: Here's another char slot.

Further, the guild leader that commented on NOT wanting his guild members to spend time in a different guild on their cross faction alt (quite possibly/probably on a different server), was SPOT ON.
<insert lots of characters here>- The Harbinger - Invictus guild.

It is based on the base class - not Advanced Classes. So you only need 8 to unlocked everything.

Nice try though.

You get no benefit from having a Sentinel and a Guardian. One will give you the class ability to use.

More character slots are nice, but 16 is not in anyway required for the Legacy System. 8 will give you nearly everything you could get.

I could see an argument for 9 since there are 9 races though.

I'm not sure there is any real stated benefit to having the mirror of each AC as far as legacy is concerned, but under what was released, adding 8 more 50's with all those extra companions would give the player a ton of extra power.

I myself am looking farther ahead, will BW create more character slots if they create a new class? With the way they do it that would be 4 new classes, 1 base for each side with 2 AC's per that mirror each other.

The cross-class heroic ability is different between the mirrored classes (IA grants the Orbital Strike, Smuggler grants the kick in the nads, etc.)

Well. The legacy system gives great incentive to level alts on the same server, and I am already maxed out at my server. I will need more slots to make use of it.

That's a fringe case - most players will not ever come close to doing that.

Dan Ericson's response to this yesterday: 'No plans as of yet, but duly noted.'

Implying they'll expand character slots someday.

Same here.

16 classes to play with only 8 slots. Not fond of that really as I don't plan on playing on a different server.

And while I can get all I need on one server, I've already taken up 2 spots with the same class.

One a sage and one a shadow. So now something has to be left out.
