Reading comprehension. Not hard.

I said it "isn't designed for just one." That doesn't imply that it's just for casuals. BW has MANY officials statements, even recently, stating that it's the case as well. BW often speaks of making sure swtor will encompass all forms of gameplay. From casusal/social events, to even recently voicing their desires for swtor to have a solid future in competitive eSports.

They've outright said that this game isn't just for casuals, but for everyone. Or "You" as they like to put it. Hate to be the one to break it to ya hoss, but this is everyone's game.

Oh , how I agree with thee.

However , we do walk a fine line here.

You have to consider what is the meaning of these symbols we offer in effort to communicate.

language changes in accord with the behavior of those who use it.

There are many factors which act upon language.

Temporal
Technological...

Could sum it up as saying simply Cultural.
To use the vernacular: Like, duh.

There are varying degrees of formality required depending on context, and being overly formal in the wrong context is as incorrect as being too informal in another.

And, of course, meanings change: Words are not defined by dictionaries; dictionaries are reports of word usage. (Which is why reading the unabridged OED is such fun, if you're me.) There are also constant assumptions of contextual knowledge on the part of the intended audience -- in my secret identity as TDD Editor Man, I have to ask the authors if the intended audience would know the meaning of some acronyms. For example, I'm going to guess that "OED", in the context we're currently using, is instantly meaningful to you -- but without knowing anything else about you, TDD may or may not be. (In this case, it means Technical Design Document.)

However, as I often point out, the issue is not rigid and absolute adherence to every minor rule of formal English, but simply being able to communicate basic ideas clearly. Even if one can glark the meaning of the inchoate scrawl from context, it takes effort to do, albeit often a subconscious effort, and it's my contention that if the author cares so little about his ideas that he can't make the effort to write them clearly, then I see no reason to care about them enough to read them.

I still love this game and changed my sub from a monthly basis to a 3-month basis. Yuo know what? If it was too hard people complained about how hard it was, if it was simple the same, so this is our poor mankind, never satisfied and dying in boredome.

That's the problem isn't it. They want more but have no wish to wait. They already announced that a patch with a lot of stuff they were asking for is coming this month but that's not enough. They want more and want it now.

I agree as well. The only thing I fret about is that the endgame itself isn't and won't be challenging enough, NOT that it won't come soon enough. I think a lot of people are getting those two things confused when us "hardcore," as many call us, voice our views and opinions.

For me at least, there was little sense of accomplishment after completing what we have now, unlike "the game that won't be mentioned" where much more teamwork, time, gear, coordination, and trial and error were needed. Take that for what you will. It didn't take much work to get there in swtor, and it doesn't take much at all to complete it. Also take note, that I didn't stay up for 4 days straight leveling, I didn't play 12 hours a day for the first 2 months. After hitting 50, I played a few hours a night, maybe a little more on the weekends if other things allowed it to be. The perception of the "hardcore" crowd in this thread is WAY off base.

That being said, the dev's really do listen to this community. They might not respond in forums, but when you sit back and see what they have done already as well as whats coming up, its pretty obvious. I still have some faith. We'll see what direction things take in 1.2

I may not have had the same experience as you Abiza, but I've always been an altoholic. I actuallly found out first hand that you can't create more than 50 characters on an account in WoW because the game told me NO you can't create another character.

That being said I enjoy how the different classes and advance classes feel. How even if a class is mirrored it feels different. I don't need to show off my e-peen. I would rock PvP have all kind of kills and wins and not care about my win/loss ratio. Not bothered with displaying a Battlemaster title. I actually like the mod system so I can stick my good mods into something that looks like crap gear. Boy do they get surprised.

This game makes all my characters feel important. When I do solo or group content I feel like we matter. When we/I succeed as long as I know that's what matters to me. My Shadow don't want to wield a purple lightsaber but a yellow one. My Marauder wants red. That uber piece of e-peen that can be obtained will not bother me because most of the time it doesn't fit into the vision of my character. (Role Playing Game and stuff) If it happens to as long as I don't feel like i'm putting in work I'll go for it. As soon as it does I'm gonna stop.

I run content for the fun of it. Not the gear. When I used to raid in WoW I passed on loot that would of been an upgrade for me. I had oodles of DKP and didn't care because it'd help Jo or Sally more. That's just me. Right now I'm feeling PvP. Having a blast. I'm also training my faction to get better. (I play both factions on separate servers. they're not gonna be using my tricks against me hehe.) My e-peen is for me to see and if I show you you better be really cute and DON'T have a peen.

I'm sure the game designers saw this coming, but they made a conscious decision to not include any quest-chain lead-up to EV, nor any - for the lack of a better word - grind process lead-up to EV, i.e. if EV/KP were the 'end-game', then they could have introduced more substantial content in between instead of making players just re-do the same FPs over in HM, e.g. new storylines etc. etc.

I find the lack of gamer e-peen ... bracing.

I agree with the OP to a certain extent. Hard core players are needed to help push progression. Those players have gotten used to being treated special for their efforts through special rewards for clearing the hardest content. The game needs a mix of all kinds of players to continue to be a success.

Heh. Well said.

I am a proud casual gamer who plays solo entirely. I don't CARE what 'high level' stuff there is, and I don't care what top level gear there is. I DO care about the constant prattle of overcaffienated youth, it diminishes my enjoyment.
