You know over time your posts are become more and more pointless and more and more incoherent right?

It's like watching a slow decent into madness.

Because they should look the way they do.

I think someone nailed it when they said that the imperial station was originally a republic station taken over. They even show this happening in the 'return to korriban' trailer.

So that's why they look the same, and not at ALL that the devs were lazy.........

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH, right. But the station takeover thing is still correct.

Makes sense lorewise the Empire did take that space station about Korriban and that was a republic station. Would seem to reason it was standard design.

Their possible clarification on this however must be something like it will make players easier to find and remember their sections, vendors or class specific destinations. But for me as a more critic gamer than average it is not just as simple and convincing like that..

For those people who haven't noticed yet. Just take a look at the map (press M) on either Republic or Imperial fleets. You will see that there has been a numerous iterations copy > paste of a 90 degree base design applied for the other 3/4th part of the map. Inside this 90 degree base design there is again a four multiply copy / paste iteration applied.

The most shamefull part of this is that both faction fleet designs are identical except a few cosmetic changes.
Because a circular design is the most efficient setup they could have for the various included components that needed to be present.

What did you want, some sprawling zig-zagged monstrosity of a layout that took forever to figure out and even longer to get from one end to the other?

I challenge you to take all of the elements that need to be present on each fleet station and come up with a better design. Post your images of your sketchwork here in the thread you've created to prove your design superiority.

You have seven days from this moment. I expect to see some sketches by March 10th.

Thank you.

Actually, there is an orbital station above korriban, and it is not the imperial station. It also wasn't built before the empires exile either because it's named after a guy that wasn't around then. The whole "same company" doesn't make sense, since the empire was in hiding.

There is no lore explanation, it's really just laziness. Have you seen the screenshots of imperial reflections on the floor of the republic station?

As mentioned in several other previous posts, the efficiency of the design has not been heavily disputed; what we're concerned with is the lack of grandeur in the fleet design - it is not awe-inspiring which disappoints quite a few people.

EDIT: The lack of suitably inspiring background music may also give rise to such a perception.

The original post was entirely about questioning the symmetrical, circular design.

That being said, I'd love some really specific examples on what would give a larger feeling of grandeur.

I like the one idea about having a few more ships flying past the outer windows, but that's about the only real suggestion I've seen in this thread.

To me, the station designs are as near-perfect as I would have expected at launch.
