Haven't you heard....?

That bird is the word?

Seriously though, both the Imperial & Republic shared the same architect who designed their Fleet Stations.

Well I hope to see changes in patch 1.2 on the fleet design and atmosphere to make it feel like a more alive place..

Maybe more npc activities and interactivity possibilities for players to make the place less boring to stay, so i.e. I have to do less ALT+TAB when im on warzone queue.

I understand every reason things are the way they are, however, I think they really shoulda put more effort here. You spend a lot of time on station. Each one should be very unique. The lore answer may soften the blow, but it's still kinda lame.

Please BW, while you are working on space changes, give some love to stations.

I prefer the look of the Republic fleet. More military like. The Imperial fleet is sponsored by some Nar Shadda nightclub.

Sad part is that we paid for Mr. Cut and Paste to do his job.....

The funny thing is, if they weren't the same, players would be constantly complaining about how the differences 'prove' that the devs favor one side or the other.

Have to agree with this. With all the 'favoritism' rumors flying around, making the fleets all but nearly identical would probably just fan those flames.

does having an identical repub and imperial fleet design really annoy/anger some ppl that bad???? If thats so then instead of playing games you should probably seek some help. This is so trivial compared to stuff they should be worried about.

It is our duty as players to air our grievances in the hope that they might be addressed.

Back to the main topic of the fleets, I felt that the fleets lack that 'epic' factor that greeted you upon your first visit, cf Stormwind in WoW. Also the lack of multiple 'capital' cities located on different planets discourages exploration, making all these planets nothing more than transient leveling phases; but then again, the fleet doesn't even have enough players on it at the moment to even justify another player-hub.

EDIT: Coruscant and Dromund Kaas come pretty close because of the population numbers, that's a good start.
