It's not really sci-fi, it's fantasy. Sci-fi implies some scientific plausibility. You could never create a laser beam of finite length.

If your a lvl 50 Imperial do the Dailys on Ilum (4) and Belasvis (7) between drops and rewards you can make 100K or more in three hours at most per day, solo. Both Ilum and Belsavis have more dailys then stated above but they are Heroics (2 each H2 and H4) or are bugged (1 on Ilum and 1 or 2 on Belsavis)

Just by playing. Doing my Ilum/Belsavis dailies give plenty of credits to pay for consumables and repairs. There isn't really too much to buy in this game so eventually you will have too many credits to know what to do with. Think about it. The game is only a couple of months old and people don't really have anything to buy while sitting on an easy 2 million credits. What's going to happen when the game is a year old? Obviously new content might give reason to spend money but I don't see it being too much. Happens in all MMOs. I've never really played any MMO where I have found myself short on currency. SWG I had hundreads upon hundreads of millions of credits. SWTOR I have a couple of million. LOTRO has been the only MMO where I haven't really been 'rich', but I have plenty of currency to buy the things I need and still have a heavy wallet afterwards.

Its not even so much about looking unique. But, some of us like vanity stuff, like fluff, etc. Why are you so judgemental lol? Having 2 white lightsabers may be just as important to someone as buying a piece of gear with +1 extra stats is to you.

Keep in mind that the one Heroic 4 (Lights Out) on Belsavis can be completed solo very quickly and easily. The "Freeing The Fallen" (Heroic 2 on Belsavis) can be done solo as well. I do it as a Juggernaut with a healing companion without breaking a sweat. Just run down, die at boss, kill boss, done. The only quests that involve an actual group are the other Heroic 4 Belsavis (can't remember the name... something Enemies... but I have done it with just 2 players and 2 companions plenty of times) and Poisonous Strategy on Ilum. I haven't really had luck doing that one solo yet. Then again haven't tried that hard, I am sure it's doable though.

Lightsabers aren't lasers, they're plasma suspended in a force containment field.

I have 4 50s, I do 4 ilum quests 10700 per quest 42800 x 4 = 171200 and i can do all 16 in an hour

ofc that requires you to have all four logged out on ilum

They really just give money away, and nothing to spend it on

You won't see every marauder running around with dual white sabers at 1.1.5s launch, like you do with everyone running around with purple. I also have a varying amount of vibroblades setup and waiting for when 1.2 hits .
