Be my guest. I saw stormtroopers on Dewback in movie (New Hope) and they were very slow. I think that Dewback and Banthas are as elephants, usable as transport, maybe on large distances but not very quick. Unless they start running somehow but in that case nobody can't hold on them.

animal mounts are so much faster, if it seems like a long distance, the screen just slides to the left and you're at your destination.

but in all seriousness, at least on hoth you shoulda been able to get tauntauns. (heh rabbit goats)

Might have something to do with terrain issues/character interaction problems which is something WoW had problems with from time to time. Also, animals have a lot of movement animations while speeders....don't making speeders easier to implement and animals more complicated to implement.

For a AAA title game and game company, these are nothing but lame excuses. I actually couldn't believe what I was reading when I read that comment in the interview.
