It's rare I see anything below 60 fps, and very rare to see 40 or less. I don't PVP, but playing all the way to 50 in heroics and whatnot, it never stumbles. Even when Fleet is crowded it never drops from refresh rate at 60fps.
More ram, overclock cpu

I just bought this a couple of months ago and I was told it would run ANYTHING I threw at it smooth as butter.

I am running a AMD Phenom II X4 925 Processor with 2.8G
(Quad-Core)
8 Gigs of DDR3 SDRAM
It is showing me hopping at 20s and 30s on Frames per second on Ilum at central.
There is not any fighting going on right now so i wouldnt think it was REALLY bogged down.

At the Imperial Fleet it is showing me at the 30's-40's on Frames per second.

Really weird because once i get on another planet or something I can get into the 80-90's.
Again I dont see or notice any skipping or anything at these frame rates... but I DO on ilum.. ESPECIALLY during battle.

I have'nt had any kind of lag or skipping until I came to Ilum and I have kept my setttings on High for graphics.

Do my frames per second seem bad?
If so why am I getting this?
What can I do to improve it?

Thanks!
You may want to overclock your CPU. Find someone with your same motherboard on google for guidance. Those processors can push

I have all graphics settings maxed out besides aa is on low and get 100+ fps besides in illums major battles I bog down to about 40fps which is completely payable. That is due to the servers not the "bad code".
I agree (I'm running the same setup, which I overclocked to a humble 4.5ghz). I have to assume that the people whining about major lag even on "super comps" either overrate their computers, or have some other problem bogging down their rig. Sometimes I dip down to 25 or so on Ilum (when we're talking 60+ people on screen), but even then it's very playable.

Actually I have. Not super-aggressively, imho, but by 150MHz. I might get a bit of improvement from more RAM but I'll never notice it. Not going to build another computer for another 2 years I think.

I use a ram usage monitor gadget on my second screen and while running this game I hit 4GB quite often

Welp... I overclocked my GPU dont know ALL the stock settings But as an example the stock setting for the core clock was 865 and I pushed it all the way up to 1260.

The frame per second has not improved a BIT.
I dont understand *** is going on.

I can play most of the game fine.
But when I get to ilum and theres a battle of five on five or something i get choppiness.
and I HATE it!!!!
I really cant pvp effectively...

And I dont understand why if my frame rate is like at 50 or something at the imperial fleet... how can the game appear to be fine and smooth to me?

I LOVE the idea of open PVP and such and I HATE the pvp they had at the under 50 lvl. But now when I go to ilum for some real PVP.. I cant play it effectively, and im PISSED.

Not sure *** to do or what is going on.

3.06 i7
12GB Ram
EVGA Superclocked GTX 570

This game plays like butter. I average 110fps and "drop" to 75ish on Ilum when there are four gajillion people on the bridge.

Out of what I have seen, most of the people having problems with their "high-end" systems are usually running some form of AMD hardware. Whether it is an ATI card or an AMD CPU, it seems to be the culprit.

Maybe the code just seems to favor Intel and Nvidia.

It's most definetly bad coding, you shouldn't need to have an I5 to run a game that looks 8 years old and uses dx9
"You will do it with me" ~ Damn, how I wished force persuade was real.

Probably your processor, you could spend 30 on a hyper 212+ CPU cooker and overclock or get the new amd six core CPU for about 150 if you have the right mobo.. Or don't go to illum. Make sure you have the latest direct x runtime update that includes 9.0c and latest gpu driver. Also right click swtor launcher and go to comparability and disable windows theme, run as administrator and disable the thing right next to windows theme.can't think of what it is atm.and turn off shadows
