Yes, the OP's approach may have turned some people off but if people would look more at the content and not the approach it would have been a much more healthy conversation.
What assumption do you see? I merely stated that I'd lost count of how many times I'd seen a certain attitude expressed (i.e. that casual players are "bad" players). There's no assumption involved there on any level.

Your politeness is appreciated, though.

May be you should read it again...

The OP wants something to separate him from less hardcore people on his server. That's elitism. It's epeen craving. It's wanting to be something that others have a more difficult time obtaining/being. You can't get more elitist than that.

Why do you think it's helpful or necessary to accuse others of insecurity? Do you think this improves the discussion on any level? To me it just seems like another unwarranted attack on a group of people with whom you don't identify.

Try taking the high road.

I didn't get that impression at all from the OP. Besides the fact that 'epeen' is mentioned in the title, I don't get the impression that he wants to hold progression over casual players head and go na-na na-na boo-boo at all. He simply wants something to appease his appetite at end game as a hardcore player, nothing more. You simply drew conclusions.

This is just an effort by Bioware to drain the community of an over inflated, broken economy before the new and improved system hits in 1.2. At least I hope it's new and improved

Yup agreed. I'm glad I didn't have to call him out on that.

The assumption was that there is a general implication that people who state they are casual are worse players or that they want to be "hard core".

There were some comments made to that regard but not a general theme. Some were in direct response to those that say raiding is simplistic and only attracts pimply faced puberty entrenched boys who have too much time on their hands.

Maybe assumption was the wrong word...how about perception?

But yeah...some on both sides are dredging it down from a decent discussion to simple name calling.

What are you talking about dude? The OP doesn't want anything to separate himself from others. He only asked for more challenging content.

My god people..

Funny how you consider gloating how easy end-game content is, how his guild clears 16-man nightmare mode ops all the time, or how there's nothing left for his uber guild to complete isn't there to "hold progression over casual players head".

It totally is. But each to his own opinion I guess, just keep in mind that plenty recognize this sort of thread as elitism.

Completely DISAGREE. This game does NOT need "epeen" as you call it. it just needs to be fun. The more "electric *****" you throw into a game the more people will hate it. Its offensive to even read that you want it to become a chore to play. If I have to log on for hours and hours to get anything done, i'll leave this game as fast as I left world of epeencraft.

You quoted me as saying exactly what you just said I am not seeing "There were some comments made to that regard but not a general theme. "

As has been pointed out, it has been tossed out just the same by the "casuals". I hate using tags but they help for this thread I guess.
