This. I play a heal specced Scoundrel. This is just another nail in her coffin. The ONLY defensive contribution I could make, besides sub-par heal botting, was dotting nodes while on defense. Now my only options are heal botting (which a Sage/Sorc is MUCH more capable of doing), or tossing out my paltry AoE thermal grenade every few seconds (during which time I'm NOT heal botting) and waiting to get focused down (BTW, Sage/Sorc can accomplish that much easier as well).

At least I can coast my way to War Hero now, though, with the changes to Valor.

Here's a little poem I wrote:

Lolo DoT spammers, lolo
You're mad
You're sad
You're bad

Lololo

Bioware makes a change
You flock to the forums, how strange
Most of you are acting deranged

Lololo

Your dots can't prevent me from capping
After I killed you and you are dirt-napping
You'll have to resort to sapping

Lololo

The change is made for the best
So please, put your whining to rest
And not stink when completing your daily "win 3 WZs" quest

Lololo

I hope you like it

I'm so glad they made it so DOT doesn't interrupt interacting with objectives.

I've played so too many matches were teams of opponents would do drive-by DOTs and then run run to the next objective, drop DOTs and then run to the next objective. This drive-by cycle was on an infinite loop making the match very boring.

Talk about knowing the meaning of a word.

This isn't a bug fix in any way shape or form. It's a mechanical nerf. It has been working as intended this whole time, whether you agree with it or not.

And what does it matter which method was better? Both got the job done. But now only 1 works. And we're still great at it. So again, point is regardless of words used, this doesn't hurt me while alive. Other classes? Got hit hard.

None of them are particularly prohibitive costs, and waiting a second or two between them (enough time to still prevent capping guaranteed, even a bomb defuse) means you can get a huge amount of mileage out of them, they are spammable.

Sage AoE costs 100 force out of 600 (talented, but who doesn't take that?).

Hail of Bolts costs 2 ammo. Isn't that EXACTLY the same amount of resources? Except with the trooper, you have regen abilities that aren't tied to your health, and you have a resource that you can keep track of to keep very high regeneration.
Fair enough, I just did a quick knotor of hail and saw it as 4 ammo, so I can't comment to that. I'll say this though, Sage with right talents (which many pvp spec players will have) could chain cast FQ for at least a minute straight without any breaks or interruptions, but the biggest part... no target limitations.

Regardless of who's the best, idiots who think this change is going to let them node zerg better get used to seeing a lot of force storm and force quake.

I'll be honest, I pulled "2 ammo" out my ***. I'd bet on 3. I highly doubt 4. The point is that resource management will always get you good mileage. There are a LOT of AoEs in this game. The main problem with DoTing was that it was a way to prevent caps after death.

As an Annihilation specc'd Marauder I'm sure I'll feel this more than most (if you aren't aware the Annihilation spec is built off our DoT abilities specifically our bleeds).

So now I can't DoT someone up and camouflage if it gets too intense around an objective for some breathing room while still preventing the objective cap with my DoTs.

Eh. Big deal. I'll adapt just like everyone else can and will.

I have an idea for BW. Make it so any damaging ability doesn't interrupt capturing an objective. That will make it fun.

I guess it’s kind of like what happened in the NFL when the ownership decided that the audience cared more about seeing someone score than they did about seeing a skillfully played game. They changed the rules to favor offense and passing. A similar thing happened in the NBA when they changed the rules regarding dribbling the ball.

You won't feel this more than most. your DoTs are shorter than anyone else's.

Smugglers could get 21-second DoTs from their shared tree and sages could get 21-second DoTs from a second-tier talent.
