Is it really so hard to defend objectives without Dots?

The Real Option Lies Loosely around the fact that I took the time and used the energy to get a dot off on someone to have it poof cause I died, the bleed should poof? Maybe dot heals should poof and for that matter any damage I did before dying should be replaced on each character I damaged. NEAT
www.barelygaming.com I need some members and input on what to do with this site!

DoTs should never go poof, regardless if the aplier died or not. It's damage. Damage that is being done and obviously can be useful for when other people attacking the point or subsequent assaults. I don't think anyone who is being reasonable should be promoting that.

The damage component should always keep going unless cleansed/dodged.

HOWEVER.

I think BW really needs to take a look at tab targeting and increasing the hit box for clicking players if they want direct damage only to stop caps.

Outside of AoE, it's actually quite a pain to try to stop multiple cappers when they are standing in front of you and your tab target keeps giving you everyone but the enemies nearby.

Clicking them is really not much better, and "select nearest enemy" only gives you the 1 person closest to you.

Not every class has a short cd on demand AoE that can be spammed, and single targetting the cappers is sometimes necessary and frustratingly impossible.
This. Tab-targetting is awful. And clicking is harder than it seems.

HAH.

AHAHAHAHA.

Yeah, my assault vanguard popping ammo cooldowns to shoot incendiary round (a grossly expensive DoT) on every enemy anywhere near an objective is still not skillful play. Just sayin.

You somehow failed to grasp the point of my post. Nerfing Dots so that they don't interrupt makes AoE the best form of interruption. Which class is the only class with spammable no CD aoe? Sorcs/Sages.... then add hybrid spec's 2 instant cast aoe's on top of it... The point being who does this change hurt? Sorcs/Sages? Rofl, no. It just made us the best interrupters in the game hands down. All the whining about force users tab dotting wound up nerfing the the techies more.

This was actually a good decision. The Warzones are already too defense oriented as is. When people abused DoTs it was even sillier. This change and the speeder changes in Civil War should balance things out more.

Actually, commandos have a spam-able No-CD AoE as well.

Hail of Bolts, I believe it's called.

I think smugglers get one too, but it's tied to Upper Hand?

Vanguards also have Explosive Surge, that's spammable.

Shadows have one too. It's weak, but it hits all targets and is spam-able. Whirling Blow I believe.

It's not exactly spammable if you run out of resources after only 3 of em...

DoTs make you run out of resources and the sage AoE makes you run out of resources.

None of them are particularly prohibitive costs, and waiting a second or two between them (enough time to still prevent capping guaranteed, even a bomb defuse) means you can get a huge amount of mileage out of them, they are spammable.

Sage AoE costs 100 force out of 600 (talented, but who doesn't take that?).

Hail of Bolts costs 2 ammo. Isn't that EXACTLY the same amount of resources? Except with the trooper, you have regen abilities that aren't tied to your health, and you have a resource that you can keep track of to keep very high regeneration.

Making the second best method for a sorc to prevent capping the best method without buffing said ability is a buff? Hmm, me thinks that word doesn't mean what you think it means...
