Addons dont modify the code, they are scripts, basically, and have only whatever arbitrary powers the designers include in the scripting api.

Addons arent in the game for security and time budget reasons.

But yeah, I see your point about modifying code. Either way, its most likely legal.

Not like it gives you an advantage gameplaywise; quite the contrary, its a huge disadvantage in warzones.

That's it.

No more problems for me at all! No crashes, no tearing, no nothing.

Yes, the game is not as pretty but I'll be damned if it's not a million times more playable.

Try it.

N.B. If you still have some small problems then that'll be bloom and shadows. Off and Low for those works for me. Oh and I have a 5970x2 for reference. (Crossfire disabled 60fps all the time.)
I wish this were the case for me, but I'm already running the game on the very minimum settings. Nothing ingame can go any lower besides Conversation Depth of Field Effect. I hear sometimes the game doesn't do the settings up on startup and I'll try resetting them all again, but unfortunately, I'm already on broke settings.

Rekkz sounds like he is describing more a quality issue, not a brute fps issue like most of us are.

Yeah please try again, I was tearing my hair out until I found my solution. I was so close to giving up (and getting a slap from the other half for being moody about it all lol)

I think it would be nice if a lot of the people having these issues would ask questions about it for the next Q&A. I myself would like to know what further work is being done to increase FPS outside of the 1.1.5 shader option. Would they add the ability to select runtime environment in 1.2? Even more graphics options? I think it would help immensely.

If you can, look for the Q&A questions thread and start asking. I'm honestly really glad they did something to try and help with the new shader option. I would like to see a response that's more geared not for low-mid systems, but mid-high systems. Something like selectable runtime or hell...just more settings, something, would make me much more likely to stick around for the long haul to see if these issues can't be resolved. Right now I'm on the fence for unsubbing (which I've done once, and resubbed when I heard about the 1.1.5 change) and hearing this sort of news, specifically what else is planned on being done, would keep me around. Oh and dates. Like, 1.2 will have X. That would do it.

Mmm yes and no. I was specifically replying to the drop in fps from the effects in the game and the seemingly dx10/dx9 mixup going on therein (I'm not that technical to describe in detail).

The only time I found where my dps suffers is with shadows on full obviously (that's a gimme), bloom, smoke, and anything that requires some sort of post-processing like the smoke and pew-pew lazorz.

For me, and I can only say for me of course, is that all my problems are to do with the effects I mentioned before. There is something screwy with them.

At the very least I suspect it's part of the whole problem.

It does seem like if you're reducing settings from things like full, that we're not having the same sort of issues. I'm struggling just for playability of the entire game on min settings.

However, I will say that it's great you're in here giving some help. Anyone that's willing to help with a positive attitude (i.e. not trolling or just hating on either BW, those with issues or those without) is awesome.

I would like to ask though, what graphics card are you running?
It would help me see if my idea of this being a runtime issue.

I am.
I have not modded anything nor changed any configurations. I use 2-GTX 570's in SLI (Nvidia Recommended sli mode).

Really all I've done is kept my machine clean and use the latest drivers.

It plays fine for me, and at the above resolution with all the quality extras, I get 60-80fps consistently.

I suspect it is not a problem with the game.

You can't buy Crysis and expect it to play well on a 5 year old machine.

And my specs are as follows.
I7-2600k oc'd to 4.6
8gig mushkin 2133
(2) mushkin chronos ssd's raid0 (~950MB/s writes, ~1.1GB/s reads)
1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3
(2) Gigabyte GTX 570's oc'd to 845mhz
30" HP ZR30W (2560x1600)
Win7 Ultimate x64
20Mbps (27) interwebs connection
Illum screenshots with at least 30 players on screen showing your perfect performance. I expect ZERO jaggies too, since you apparently run at 16xAA. The screenshot better be at 2560x1600 and un-doctored.

Until you post that screenshot, you are a liar.

Please do not feed the trolls. We need constructive posting in here, and to not bury possible useful info with hateposting. Please, I'm really suffering, and a flamewar will not help me (or you!)
