How so? The suggestion was that people do this to find a group. Therefore I am predicting what it would be like at peak times to have everyone using this technique to get a group.

I feel your claims of it being the most exaggerated rebuttal on this forum is actually somewhat exaggerated itself.

To hell with that! I'd take sitting watching the General Chat for a "LFG?" comment appearing!
Wow... just wow...

So when I say "I'll toss out a whisper and ask them if they want to join for a flashpoint" you take that as if I was going to macro the text and spam them to death over the course of several days? Don't you see how stupid your comment is?

Good god, I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

Touche.

Both were done for effect and blatantly untrue. I agree.

That's the rub. It might work for a few select individuals, but it doesn't scale at all.

I had a healer friend that stopped playing her healer because of just this issue (pre LFG days in WoW). Felt harassed by all the whispers, actually.
My epiphany about End Game in SWTOR!

Seriously, I'm not making an attack at you, just honestly think about it. Two thirds of the people on the server who are 50 taking your idea and whispering people about making groups. Can you imagine how annoying that would get?

I'd be happy enough with just one channel that spanned all the planets for LFG. It might work, it might not, but it'd be a step in the right direction.

Cross server is coming like it or not.

If Cross server does not come this game will DIE. Its a fact.

I am sick of this crap about community, try playing on a low or standard pop server then come back to me and say you are against a cross server pvp/lfg tool.

Some players like the game itself. And want to be able to group with RL friends that live a few states over, or even across town. Some, like me, want to have the option to join with others, but also the option to go my own way. Some, also like me, want to be ableto chat with random people while playing. Also, most of the single player games seem silly to me, pay 60 bucks for a game that will last me maybe a month, or pay 60 bucks for a game, then 15 bucks a month for a game that changes constantly, and allows me to play a different character every time I log in. Seems like an easy choice to me. In fact, in some poll a few years back that my roomie showed me, many MMO players are like that. They like games that allow them to solo, or do stuff in small groups. I like SWTOR cause it allows me to do just that, same with COH and LOTRO. I can solo when I want or group when I want. I can join a raid if i want, or heroic, or just run around killing everything I see.

My roomie on the other hand is kinda anti-social, only likes grouping with people he knows, and thinks my chatting is silly. But he likes the games for many the same reasons, he can solo or group when the mood strikes. He can play alts and try different things. He will never raid or pvp. Hell, he would like something different about the icons for the heroic mission givers so he could just ignore them.

Thats the glory about these games, they are flexable, and when done right, can cater to a whole range of people.

The LFD tool isn't killing WoW. In fact WoW isn't dying. It's suffering a lull at the moment but that's not to do with the LFD, that's due to lack of content.

Seriously you check the majority of opinion polls about why people have unsubscribed and you'll find it's not "I did some random pugs on LFD and they were rude to me so I quit the game."
No it's "I got bored of doing the same dailies, the same grind and the same raids."

For some evidence: http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/...3#post15274403

The LFD tool was originally introduced during Wrath Of The Lich King nearly two years ago. If that is what you're claiming is killing Wow then it sure is taking a long time to do it!

It's a tool to help people and let them enjoy the game. If you don't like it, don't use it and shut up.

That's the real problem, people are hypocrites. The one's that scream the loudest "ZOMG I HATE LFD/LFG TOOL! I QUIT!" on these forums(notice they are STILL here) are the very first who WILL que for the tools they so despise.

Sad but it was fun to watch in WoW, will be fun to watch here.

I have.. On 2 low pop servers. Didnt have a problem at all. And to boot they were republic as well. I think most people are so used to insta everything they WONT take the time to do it any other way now.

Basically - People got lazy, and want insta everything.
