That's exactly what we have right now and it's useless as people clearly don't use it/know how to use it.

Absolutely. I've vote kicked more tanks and healers for being elitist jerks than I can count. It's a game, supposed to be having fun...I don't need the run bad enough to need to tolerate intentionally unpleasant people. If they won't "just say no", I'll do it for them. It's only electrons, and there's always another que.

Bioware if you are reading this do NOT add features from World of Warcraft such as LFG, LFR, Cross-Server Functions etc. The reason I say this is these features are some of the main causes so many of the games subscribers are canceling there accounts. I fully believe that when World of Warcraft came out Blizzard truly did care about its game and it's community but as time went on the saying "power corrupts" came into play and instead of something they loved, it became something that just makes money for them. Bioware what you have now is amazing, but it is still a work in progress. The features above I beg you not to put in as it destroyed the social aspect of a game that went from players getting to know who you were playing with into a ruthless system of who gets more gear quicker and with the least amout of effort possible.

In the Begining of WoW it was great, you actually got to know who you were playing with and you formed friendships with people that you constantly play with, forge rivalries with opposing factions, people who actually had a sense of courtesy and respect, guilds that actually had a purpose, and most importantly a fun, enjoyable game to play. But as it is sad to say the current "generation" of that game is just lazy ruthless players who would rather it around and click a button to find a group instead of going out and interacting with the community to find players with I feel a community is the most important aspect of a MMO. WoW right now guilds are just giant monopolies of players that are just people to reap the level 25 benefits while guilds that are about other players and knowing the people in there guild struggle to have a foothold in there server and the creation of new guilds is now completely impossible. Guilds were a place to communicate with people that to could actually call your friends and rely On them when you were in need of help, witch from experience of the last few months that I played that game I can tell you that it was nonexistent. They just became a group of people that were there for one soul purpose only, to have a quicker easier game experience witch is extremely sad. LFG was a feature that was created to appease this new generation of lazy gamers that where part of the decline in the social aspect of the game and the community in general as I stated before with features like this made it so you didn't have to know who your playing with instead you join up with people from across the servers, had a silent run witch is unapealing to many people and this made it a lot easier for ninjas to steal loot and get away with it. With the newest feature LFR is one o the biggest mistakes they could have made. On my server the only thing I would hear in trade chat was people looking for raid groups or premades, and now this gave those lazy people less insentive to be active in the community.

Cross-Server PvP is the ultimate distruction of world PvP. How? It's simple if you were with your guild doing PvP and you saw other guilds from your server but the opisite faction you would eventually create rivalries with that group I remember participating in guild wars in wow with the aposing factions and teaming up with guilds from your faction to take on the other guild and when cross-server came along that almost completely dropped because u lost that sense of exacting revenge against them for your countless losses or vice versa. There is much more that I would like to go into about this but if any Bioware dev reads this please take this to heart I am in love with your game it brings back happier days of MMO and I'm not saying don't add anything your game is perfect I'm saying add things that are completely unique to this game and maybe take a few things from SWG that was one of the best MMOs even though it got no recognition really of it, it had a true social community and a gaming experience that brought you close to other players. For now that is all but please take this as a warning and from someone that cares about this game and what it can become.
This is the kind of feedback that kills MMOs. The OP assumes so much and yet knows so little. He thinks everyone should play like him. He is completely unable to tell the difference between nostalgia and fact.

In short, worst possible advice to follow if you are a dev.

For the third time: you provided no evidence. Forum polls don't count. Calling this evidence does not, actually, make it evidence.
Careful, you might knock some sense into yourself.

So, you're saying that opinion polls on player opinions of why they quit don't count towards evidence as to why people quit....right?

Saying what I have provided is not evidence, and failing to provide any evidence yourself, does not make your argument remotely sound.

If I can effectively solo all endgame content, then I've found nirvana (the word, not the band).

If Bioware has actually created a form of endgame content that will let me maximize endgame character progression, without forcing me to group up to do so, then I've found my MMO home for the next 5 years.
thats not exactly a mmo your looking for.

thats a single player game. there are many of these on consoles, and im really curious why people pay a monthly fee for a game that requires social interaction and grouping when what they really want is a single player experience?

On my server last night (peak time) there was 50 people on Imperial Fleet, 4 on Ilum and 6 on Belsavis.

My guild were short by 1 DPS for our raid of Normal Karaggas Palace and we had to pug a DPS, which took 45 minutes to find.

Queues for PVP are non existent in the morning, and are about 30minutes - 45 minutes in between at peak times.

Nothing sells on the GTN as there's hardly anyone to buy it, I buy nothing from the GTN because no one sells what I need.

Server merges or x-server would be a nice addition, as I would be able to do a lot more things if more people were around

'Kay. Obviously, your experience and outlook is universal.

Nobody in WoW ever busted their butt getting rare pets, or stood around posing in their shiny new raid gear, and no guild ever flew around in tandem on their brand spanking new heroic "Glory of..." raid mounts, and you and nobody you ever met ever linked a purpe drop on /p or /g chat.

Likewise, you never made sure all of your gear was fully gemmed and enchanted and you never showed up for guild runs on time, ready, buffed and flasked. Because hey, status and social standing, peer pressure? You're above all that. Pfft! Videogames!

Without the social aspect, "character progression" in an MMO is meaningless.
"Sounds like you could use a soldier."

How does a feature like a LFFP matchmaking system ruin anything when you are perfectly free to not use it. It helps 90% of the population do what they want to do when they want to do it.

MMO or not, not everyone joins a guild or has people who are on every time they are on and want to run a flashpoint. Tools like the LFD in WOW made finding a group easier. That's all they would do for SWTOR.

The elitist jerks were always elitist jerks they just became more vocal cause they had to deal with more people (i.e. everyone from black dragon flight).

The current LFG flag is terrible you can type something in, but then no one can read the damn thing. Unless, BW made the columns in the who listview modifiable which when I attempted using it they weren't.

Doomsayers always think x, y, or z are the signaling of the end times. I think x, y, and z should have been in at launch.

I thought for sure this thread was going to be about all the short-sighted folks that were whining about login que-times at launch which ultimately lead to TOO many servers.

To me, that was and still is the most damaging element to this launch.
I thought something like this as well.
And sadly they dont fix the problem of low pop servers but will only apply bandaids (crossrealm features) since mergers are "bad pr".

I personally never understood the low population caps when instancing of zones is used in SWTOR.

Agreed (with OP).

But I would not go as far as no LFG. An In-Server LFG tool would do wonders for creating community. I remember years ago in another MMO running dungeons with people from the same servers led to friendships and guild invites. Or repercussions if a player felt they could behave as a racist psychopath with no consequence.

Cross-server LFG would in fact be detrimental long term. Yes a quick fix for the short term that will stung growth and sense of community in a game that was designed to run for many years to come.

An in server only LFG tool that would allow for people to queue for FPs while out in the galaxy doing missions would enhance gameplay and community building.

Cross server LFG is an instant gratification solution doing only long term harm.

That being said, I've read it somewhere they intend to institute one anyway. Sadface. It'll make making friends out in the game world that much more difficult, and more antisocial behavior while hiding among the masses of a vast metropolis.
