exactly. you admit you were one of the ones abusing the system.

wish more people were as honest as you

what i do know is at least 1 person in this thread quit wow because of the experiences they had while using it, and the effects it had on the community. (i have no idea what you guys that say "there is no community" think the definition is, could one of you please explain?)
I think someone has also said that people aren't playing SW because it doesn't have one. So, its probably a give and take in that regard.

Certainly wouldn't want to be in BW's shoes on this one... can't see how they are going to please everyone no matter what they do.
My epiphany about End Game in SWTOR!

i bet i grouped with you at some point. because the bads/griefers/rude people always had lovely experiences apparently.
You know..the ignore feature can be a great tool. My overall experence with the LFG tool in WoW has been very postive when it comes to successful runs. Have I had to use the "ignore" feature? You betcha. But then...once I do....I never have to be concerned about running with that player again. Anyone you put on your ignore list, the LFG tool will not group you with them again.
Trust is something which is earned.

LOL...have to read the rest of that and see what happened.

Thing is though, they were doing it in guild runs. Contact with other people...zero.

pffft. like anyone that plays an mmo has a chance at getting laid. maybe cybering in goldshire, or the TOR equivalent (what is the equivelant by the way? for research purposes of course.)

any social interaction (such as chatting, grouping, cybering, role playing) is a product of an online games community. if you do join a group in LFD and just run the dungeon without any social interaction (like in many wow LFD groups), how do you expect youre going to be able to cyber with that 50 year old fat dude that hasnt had a shower in weeks posing as a teenage nympho that has a nerd fetish for TOR fanboys?

This is some of the most warped and inaccurate thinking I've ever read.

I care NOTHING for status or peer pressure. I want better gear for one reason: continued character progression; a staple component of any RPG.

Status does mean nothing to me, nor does peer pressure (seriously, peer pressure in a video game?).

If I can effectively solo all endgame content, then I've found nirvana (the word, not the band).

If Bioware has actually created a form of endgame content that will let me maximize endgame character progression, without forcing me to group up to do so, then I've found my MMO home for the next 5 years.

it was a great tool before LFD in wow. it only has 50 slots. it filled up very quick and became obsolete for many.

When did RIFT die? When they implemented cross server LFG, finding a group as certain classes became impossible. Just saying it is a bad idea.

On the other hand if the LFG was just a list of people with LFG flag, showing their name and level only it might be more useful and spur more communication in the community.
