I love the people calling for community in front of a computer, sitting at home. Wake up and smell the flowers, there no community to kill, none.

The LFG tool and the tools it attracted was one of the main reasons I cancelled WoW and kicked my heels for a year until SWTOR came out.

As a tank my wait time for a heroic dungeon would consistantly be under 10 seconds. Yet my guild friends who were DPS would wait for ages and ages.

When you did get a group around 40% of the time they were populated with the rudest people i've ever played any game with. Because there were no consequences to moderate that behaviour. Ninja looting, abusive language and attitudes and complete intolerance were common. Now i'm a nice guy, I belive in helping others and being polite, I was also the MT for a pretty well progressed guild with some great gear and knew how to do my job so to go into a heroic with a group of strangers and be insulted as a bad player when they screw up isn't what I pay a subscription for.

If the SWTOR Devs implement a LFFP tool I hope it has the options to search on
1. Just your server.
2. Your Server and a sister server.
3. All Servers.

A good game needs a serious consistent game systems design philosophy, not devs running around like headless chicken changing things around aimlessly.

I would like to know from wich hole you pulled the 40% figure out. Not that I dont believe it (I dont), its just that I had a veru good experience with the LFG tool. Are you sure you are a nice guy? By your will of not having a LFG tool, and I know you give a idea, thats good, you prove that you are not as good as you might think. I have a healer and I've already spent many hours in the fleet, flagged for LFG and "socializing BW style" (AKA spamming fleet), to no avail, Id rather have a tool that fixes that.

It always amuses me how people will argue against something and then pull out opinions and pretend that they're hard sourced facts.

The LFD tool isn't killing WoW. In fact WoW isn't dying. It's suffering a lull at the moment but that's not to do with the LFD, that's due to lack of content.

Seriously you check the majority of opinion polls about why people have unsubscribed and you'll find it's not "I did some random pugs on LFD and they were rude to me so I quit the game."
No it's "I got bored of doing the same dailies, the same grind and the same raids."

For some evidence: http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/...3#post15274403

The LFD tool was originally introduced during Wrath Of The Lich King nearly two years ago. If that is what you're claiming is killing Wow then it sure is taking a long time to do it!

It's a tool to help people and let them enjoy the game. If you don't like it, don't use it and shut up.

Some of it is nice sentiment but the OP is out of step with reality as most above have said.
Blizz added these features to make their game more popular.
Things are different now there is more competition with games and sadly without these features added very soon this game will struggle against rivals for our dollars..

I really hope some of the people who were always on the WoW forums complaining about how much better Vanilla WoW was are amongst those now realising how frustrating it is spamming chat trying to get a group together.

I too used to be dead against any x server LFG but after seeing how much of a pain it is to get any group together i have changed my mind. While i have no plans to leave whether they put one in or not i think it would be nice to do at least a few flash points every now and then.

while they are at it they might as well make the warfronts x server as well so we can choose which warfront to que up instead of the luck of the draw.

Ya mean, like you just did?

Online forum polls with less than 100 respondents aren't significant enough to draw any conclusions at all.

Your counter argument seems based on a few faulty assumptions. The biggest one being that the introduction of LFG does not change how people interact with one on another.

LFG tools present two problems: they undercut an MMOs biggest advantage (socialization, other players, etc) and emphasize its biggest disadvantage (endless gear grinds).
