Honestly, I love LFG content in WoW (especially while leveling), and wouldn't mind it in SWTOR. It would be great to have a way to queue up for things like Flashpoints and participate in group content and spend time with other players without having to advertise and twiddle your thumbs hoping enough people are interested and in the zone to read it. It wouldn't kill off "manually" forming groups by way of a guild, but it would give an option to people who are often stuck playing alone. Oh my poor, poor social bar.

The only problem I have ever had with it in WoW is that the relative anonymity can lead to rampant douchebaggery. (I recall one instance where someone actually told me they thought I was the "nicest person" they'd ever met in a dungeon group because I tried to give help/advice to another one of our teammates instead of shouting at him for being "terrible.") Though I tend to think that people who are jerks in LFG because they are anonymous are most likely people who are prone to being jerks otherwise. How do people derive any sort of pleasure from being actively antagonistic? It legitimately baffles me. Any reasoning I can come up with makes me sound more judgmental and presumptuous than I'd like to.
"True mastery is to feel the flames of your passion, to dance with the fire, to live in it, to fully embrace the primal forces of destruction and creation, and not be burned to a cinder, to survive and prosper because you loved the flame, used the flame, but did not allow yourself to be consumed by it; this is greatness; this is Sith."

Its funny cause social isn't that hard to get you could be social level x by level twenty just because black talon or the republics first flash point gives you almost 150 each run I run though that about 3-4 times a day within a hour just one shot everyone and run lower level guildies at the same time.I get more satisfaction out of helping them and also getting my social then dealing with ninjas and people with superiority complexes

Man, I just had to quote this.

The guy who is telling everyone he knows what is best for them has a problem with "people with superiority complexes".

I'm in two minds about this...

on one hand I really wish we had a lfg system that matched , often finding people to run hard modes or even basic fp's is quite difficult...

but then it adds the "lol there be no consequences ninjaaaa!" player possibilities...

as a compromise what about an lfg system that lets you specify cross server or same server player matching? that way if its stupidly early in the morning for eu we can link with the americans ..

meh

Sadly good days are over, they will add all of these features, people who enjoy community will leave and you will be left with egoistic kids. I wish Bioware had some balls not do this stuff because in the end they will lose more subs by adding it than they would by not adding it.

The only cross-realm thing I support is Warzones. This doesn't destroy world PvP, lack of reward and incentive destroys world PvP.

Perhaps a compromise would be to reduce some servers and merge 1-3 servers together. Then have no X-play.. That way we keep the people we might have already met and join with others possably taking the server pop up to an averqage of 120 per early level planets. Last night there was 38 people in coruscant, nobody answered a plea for LFG with HERO 4+.. waited an hour then got on with others solo, this game at the moment is more a single player experience which is not what i want. On my server to join a guild I have to be either DUTCH, Dark Side Jedi or possess a mic.. Although I have a mic and dont mind using it for Pvp I dont want to use it on a so called RP server. THERE IS LITTLE TO NO RP on my rp server. Very frustrated, not with game as I enjoy it and care not for bugs but I hate no groups or partying.

Hmmm... well there's a huge problem in that not everyone is on the same world to start with. This is Star Wars and there are multiple planets. There really is no hope for a community like we're used to in other MMOs. This, to me, is a fundamental design flaw in SWTOR from the get go. They split everyone up and gave them no good way to get together.
A LFG function can't make things any worse than they are now unfortunately.

I don't know about your server but I already see enough people talking smack at each other over their PVP epeen in general on fleet anyway so LFG tool's not going to be ruining a whole lot of community for me at least.
