I've been told by many people that the DoT specs are actually surprisingly good in PvP (the Marauder/Sent DoT spec is amazing for PvP). Yes, I've been told by Lethality Operatives that they do tons of damage in PvP, it's just harder to play. When you're not the FOTM PvP spec, though, you take that challenge the minute you click the warzone button.
Dots that ignore armor are underrated.

Anyone else see a trend with people being pissed off at this change? Stop trying to be superman and have at least 2 people defending a point... Warzones are a team based objective match and not a deathmatch after all.

It depends, the applying of Dots should interrupt the capping process. But the damage being caused should be ignored completely.

Nothing more annoying then having dots you can't remove to prevent you from capping something.

As a sorcerer we have only one instant not on CD, and if we try to use close combat we would die.

Still though love the face I can use my lightsaber instead of having it as some vanity stat item.

The reason why it's most frustrating is that it's a mechanic that continues to affect the tide of battle even when one side is defeated. If you have defenders at a node and I send attackers there and my attackers defeat your defenders before reinforcements arrive...ideally, that should be the end of it.

Right now though, it's not the end of it. There's too many things that cause defense to be entirely too simple right now. (This is why it boggles me how people keep saying this change makes the game "easier". The way it is right now is incredibly simple.)

Many serious PvPers have already raised concerns about Rated WZ's in the future just because with two coordinated teams, planting a bomb or taking a node is nearly impossible. For example, two skilled, coordinated teams in Voidstar typically equals a 0-0 game, just because defense is so easy. Same with Alderaan, the game is decided incredibly fast assuming both teams are reasonably organized.

Changes like this bring us closer to a system where those warzones aren't quite that bad.

I don't get your meaning here. I'm not asking for every class to have a cleanse, but when people say, "Just cleanse them all!" then the fact that not everyone can becomes a relevant point.

The big thing here is from a pug player point of view, is that preventing caps with DoTs was the only thing that gave a pug team a chance vs a pre-made. Sad to see it go.

In Voidstar if they're able to DoT you, you can see them, too. If you've got 5 people that got interrupted by DoTs I don't know, maybe kill the person DoTing before they spend 5 globals to hit 5 people?

There's still plenty of other tactics to prevent you from capping the same way. Namely hit-and-runs from 90% of every warzone that has a ranged weapon, and people tossing AoEs.
People are also blissfully unaware that Shrapnel Bomb (and the Lethality equivalent) are on a 12 second CD. But it's easier to have an irrational fear of a class that nobody plays that's already been massively nerfed, so they're gonna run with that.

okay, my force shroud is on cooldown, I try to plant the bomb and every tick of dot dmg intterupts me and there are no opposite team players around. then when the dot runs out and I start planting the bomb and go ¤%&/ when somebody attack me with the normal attack. In what world is that fair?

If pugs could successfully defend against premades, that just goes to show how broken defending was because of DoTs. Two premades against each other would end 0-0.

agreed...like the change...and the WZ are supposed to be a team based game anyway, so if you are the only person defending a door and the other team is attacking you...it should be harder than just putting dots on every one than dying
