I think the general focus of why they are making DoTs not interrupt caps/defuses is simply some DoTs lasted 21s, and in the case of the Sc/Op, they could be AoE, depending on spec.

This was total BS, as it effectively shut down 3-4 people. And yes you can cleanse them, but some DoTs can't be cleansed by certain classes, and obviously some classes cannot cleanse period.

Now one can argue, that that's about all that Lethality can do, but that's a different issue. Specing to be a spawning corpse to DoT peope can't really be fun, and would have been mandatory to have one on your Ranked team to be competitive in 2/3 warzones.

LOL its just that type of pve mentality that ends a pvp game. When you get wiped you dot a guy with your last sliver of health so your other teammates come and save the day. It ends 2 out of the 3 warzones, plain and simple.

Just another way to make the game easier for people who don't understand the game mechanics. They probably try in vain to cap something with a dot ticking on them, then proceed straight to the forums and complain about so they..nerf it.

My main is a BM Shadow, I don't run a dot spec on it but I can still solo defend a door against 2 or 3 players. On the flipside, if a player dots me up so I cannot capture something SO BE IT, it's tactical play they are preventing me from capturing something I am not going to come to the forums and complain about it, it's part of tactical game play.

i just don't get where they are going with the game, making it easier and easier. Now they have killed Ilum (open world pvp) and are handing valor to people on a plate via warzones.

Well ... I think the changes, taken as a whole, will make WZ's a bit more dynamic as there's more cap'ing going on. Anything that makes a group stick around and help actually *win* instead of farming medals or dropping the WZ is a good thing.

Nerf to Ops/Smugs, but, hey, figure we're used to it now.

But ... seriously? "The skill is teamwork" ... but somehow people can't (apparently) muster the "teamwork" to have one (1) guy with a DoT cleanse click the damn turrent/place the bomb on the door once the DoT-er has been zapped?

I do nothing but pvp, and know plenty about it. If you get beat, your team still has 8 seconds to get there. And if they don't make it; guess what, you wiped, they beat you, you lose. How about you win next time?

People in this thread act like every Operative (which is also the least played class) is Lethality spec and throws DoTs all over the place.

In Voidstar if they're able to DoT you, you can see them, too. If you've got 5 people that got interrupted by DoTs I don't know, maybe kill the person DoTing before they spend 5 globals to hit 5 people?

There's still plenty of other tactics to prevent you from capping the same way. Namely hit-and-runs from 90% of every warzone that has a ranged weapon, and people tossing AoEs.

Now, keep in mind this is a single game, so take this with a pound of salt. But the last Alderaan game I played was one of the most enjoyable I ever participated in, simply because Victory was in doubt until about the last 3 seconds of a match (that is, the teams were very evenly matched). It might be that had nothing to do with DoTs no longer blocking captures. But that could also have everything to do with it

^ This. It's amazing how many terrible players are in this game.

I even saw a "nerf marking" thread today, simply terrible.

I'd agree with you if every class could cleanse. Warriors and Knights can't cleanse at all, not even with a cooldown. Not every push should require its own healer in order to be successful if there's a guy with DoTs defending the point.

Sure as hell isn't my team of 3 Warriors who successfully stomped your 1 Smuggler with DoTs. We won the fight, but don't have cleanses, so none of us can cap because our only healer is helping defend mid.

Even if it was just my 1 self against your Smuggler, and I won, don't I deserve to cap once I kill him? That's not being superman, that's rewarding a hard won fight.
