This... AoE dots + unable to cap forever = OP...

I think this is a great fix... if you can dot someone you can attack them in other ways... just makes it much more balanced now...

This will actually help with people using teamwork instead of having a 1-button cap prevention method.

Regardless, BW is implementing it. I like it. If you don't, then I'm sorry it didn't go your way. It was cheesy, others do on this thread, and obviously BW thinks it's imbalanced enough to have it fixed.
Sages/Sorcs don't have an AOE dot. We have to specifically target each person or use a ground based aoe.

That said, no. They're still going to hang behind a pillar. Then when you start to tap, pop out and aoe. They absolutely don't need to be close still.

I could care less, BW's just making it easier on people. Cap prevention while alive doesn't change. While dead it does, which makes it easier for the attackers. I'm just disappointed at how much it benefits the bad players who had the ability to remove dots and didn't utilize it properly.

Bad news, you have it backwards. The current system heavily benefits the baddies.

Yeah let's nerf DoTs stopping people from capping turrets. But hey, those 6-8 second AoE blinds and mezzes are fine though.

Seriously though, what's the actual use for DoTs in PvP now? They already do sub-par damage for most classes.

Yes, it benefits bad players. However, it also benefits classes that can't cleanse. It is an ultimately good move to balance out.

When ever I see a dead fly on my window sill, one that wasn't there the day before, I always wonder how it died.. Did he have a stroke? Or maybe had a little fly heart-attack? Then I think that maybe he's just pretending to be dead so I won't swat him.... So I swat him! *G.C.

What it does is completely gimps a melee defender vs. a tank-ranged team. It's no longer who is the better PvPer because I can't be stopping a cap and taking out the real threat first because of this. I should be able to compete 2 vs. 1, not just get completely rolled by poor mechanics. Especially since the best way to fix this would be to rework mechanics on cleansing or to have the DoTs not affect a cap if the DoT dealer is dead. Instead it completely ties a melee defender down (especially if he has no gap closer).

Any change to benefit the offense on Alderran and especially Voidstar is a good one at this point.

....what?

I don't even know where you people get this logic from. If you want to "compete 2v1" then fight them 2v1. DoTing them both, dying, flying back, dying again, flying back, dying again, flying back, dying again, is NOT "competing 2v1", it's just poor mechanics.

But you seem to think that losing a 2v1 fight is "poor mechanics". I don't even know where you guys get your ideas from...

They break on damage, even DoTs (that isn't changed). They are completely fine. They are completely useless in large melees, and are only useful for buying a single person a tiny window in which to do something useful, or to divide the enemy team. This is useful, but not overpowered.

I've been told by many people that the DoT specs are actually surprisingly good in PvP (the Marauder/Sent DoT spec is amazing for PvP). Yes, I've been told by Lethality Operatives that they do tons of damage in PvP, it's just harder to play. When you're not the FOTM PvP spec, though, you take that challenge the minute you click the warzone button.
