This is why I switched my Scoundrel spec. I would have an EASY time solo defending a door for a good bit simply putting DOTs on incoming players. I think removing this was a terrible move on Bioware's part. The point is to capture the door WITHOUT TAKING DAMAGE. Any player worth their salt would recognize a DOT and use a cleanse.

Not all ACs have cleanses, and most of the ACs that do have cleanses don't have cleanses that work on all DoTs.

well now 3 people will run in and cap while 1 person knocks them and then they will try to cap again and get turret/door without killing the single defender. I guess we all need to roll tank specs and have multiple ccs
PTS with no character copy before major content patch - Fail
Taking out major content from a patch the day before it goes live - BioFail

So instead of doing simple fixes they should investigate their dots/cleanse mechanics and whether the classes are balanced for this and not make retarded nerfs to pvp mechanics making the pvp of this game as lame/ez as the pve

I don't think this is necessary, and my main is a shadow.
If some AC's dont have a cleanse I would agree with it, if every class has a cleanse I am against it.
It's part of the class. Its basically what gives some specs all their ability.

Imo a necessary change. No matter all the e-peen being swung around, the mechanic meant it was far too easy to defend objectives, when a single suicidal dot'er can run in and disable a whole team from capturing for long enough for reinforcements to arrive. This change will punish disorganized teams that do not focus the battle around the objectives. Once someone is in the vicinity of the objective it is not hard to prevent the enemy from capturing. This is primarily a nerf to the "zerg" defense which is dominant for instance on voidstar, for more organized teams facing a clearly superior team (ie. this team is capable of killing all the defenders, but cannot place the bomb in time before they re-enter the battle).

Homogenizing the classes isn't a solution. Personally, I think that a better solution would be for damage to cause a pushback on objectives rather than outright cancellation. Then you would need to stun/mez/interrupt/kill a player to stop a cap outright, and you could slow it down significantly with sufficient DPS (eventually leading to a kill or one of the other interrupting effects). The waythings are now, it's way too easy to interrupt captures (leading to far too many 0-0 ties in Voidstar).
