Dungeon Finder Needed Badly

I asked a question which hopefully will be answered next week: "The LFG system has been mentioned as a priority, but without a set timelimit or spesifics for changes. Could you maybe give a vague plan, if not more spesific? (Patch. 1.3, 1.4... 1.5? Same server or cross server? More visible LFG button? Etc.) "

Their current answer is too unspesific and could mean anything. What's most important for me is that they actually got some plans in motion and not just "ye, it's way back there on the priority list, of ehem, maybe next huge expantion or something... Ye, we don't quite know, and for cross server, eh, well we have to vote sometime when all the staff are in one place which may take a couple of years."

Of course that may be taking it a bit far, but would still.

The only negative I've seen for a LFG tool would be ninja looting. Especially if a cross-server LFG tool as created. But there is a way to minimize ninja looting:

Add in - If you roll need while in a flashpoint, (or group for that matter), the item becomes bound to you AND the vendor value is reduced to 0 credits (must destroy item to bring up awareness that this item has no credit value).

This a little twist in a system in place in Rift. There all need rolls in groups cause the item to be bound. They left the vendor price in tact there, but just having it bound really helped reduce ninja looting. The one example I had was while in a group (just a quest), I noted that a recent group member was rolling need on the couple of items. We were low enough level where it really didn't matter (vendor value = 2 mobs worth of vendor trash), but he was off and on his way. Later he came back and said he got somethings for us in a dungeon. Giving the benefit of the doubt, we met him and when he tried to give them to us.... Bound. He didn't understand why and when I explained the system to him, he said "That sucks!" and we never saw him again. I did have him on my friends list and hoped he learned that "need before greed" works out best for everybody. But ahh well, not going to be upset that a ninja quit.

Adding the no-vendor value bit will keep the "at least I can sell it to a vendor" mentality down, and making people destroy an item (bit more obnoxious than just selling a 0-1 credit item) would discourage the behavior. The only ninjas left would be the flat out jerks out there that want to grief others... a much smaller percentage.

We can talk about this ad naseum, but isn't it obvious grouping isn't important to Bioware?

If it was, then it would have been in at launch. Now, all we get from Bioware is lip service.

Taking three hours for finding a group to run hardmodes is a real game breaker.

Well, with the Dev post from the Q&A from yetersday is any indication, a Cross server tool is very very far off. Don't know how much more damage this game can survive from low population servers and non-peak time players. Oh well, I really wanted this game to do well.
Our lack of a proper LFD tool will black out the sun!
Then we shall cancel our subs in the shade!

As much as I'm enjoying the game, with the massive flaws that it launched with, they're extremely lucky that they went live during a down period on WoW.
Let's face it, were the new WoW expansion to launch next month, SWTOR would die.

They've got till Mists Of Pandaria launches to fix their huge problems or they're gonna watch their subscription rate drop immensely.

I think I've posted in this thread before but oh well...

I completely agree with the OP. This game needs a Dungeon Finder and quick.

I hate being stuck in the fleet all day. I want to go out and do dailies while I'm waiting in queue for my hardmodes.

Right now I do my dailies and go back to the fleet and if I can't find a group in half an hour then I just log off.

I love this game but this feature will likely make or break my continuation of my subscription. Combat is fun, the story is awesome and I just want to be able to experience that without having to spam LFG for hours because spamming is not fun.

And unless you're on a very low pop server spamming would not be necessary if people used the lfg system we have. It might not be as fast as 1-click auto-teleport tool, but it's not like the system is unable to get you a group, its the community that makes you unable to get a group with it.
Computer specs

If somebody was standing on a street corner screaming "This town sucks, I'm moving!" you'd think he was crazy, right? I quit threads are the same thing.

Game is going to die without LFG tool or server merging.

Nobody wants to wait hours for group.

Is there a way to get the Dev's to pay more attention to how much of a priority this issue is?
