I laugh everytime a patch is announced. I know the games going to for 4-6 hours (As well as the forums, lmao) and the patch will be super-small and not worth the down-time.

Trying? lol...
good luck finding an mmo that does not have this problem, you will not be happy in your mmo future^^

You must be new to MMOs then....either that or new to good ones that actually fix their stuff

Every MMORPG I played that released a patch the size of the ones Bioware releases required a simple logout and login. You'd get a prompt "Servers are restarting for patch". Logout, download patch, log back in.

A big patch would come with significantly more downtime, and then a significant download.

I shudder to think what 1.2 is going to be like. Servers offline for a full week?

Most replies are as usual not on topic, but just another opportunity to rant for some individuals.

Whatever floats your boat.

Have a nice day

Of course they are trying, they have investors to save. EA threw out $200,000,000 at this game, it has to make money or they are going to have a lot of pissed off people.

Which I don't care if that is the reason they are trying, in the end we as the consumer will benefit. That is why I will continue to throw money at this game, even though I ride its *** hard. Is it OK the product is in its current state? No! Is their level of communication ok? No!

But you know what makes me have complete faith that they will fix it? The launch was impressively smooth! Forget BioWares library of games, just look at the launch! I got in on early access day 2, and from that point was able to play every day. I don't recall a single failure in their ability to provide access to the game. Queues weren't bad, I was prepared to wait over an hour, longest wait I had was 30 minutes.

If they can pull the kind of launch off they did from a technical perspective, they can fix the game.

You obviously do not have any amount of technical background, because if you did you wouldn't have said something so silly as what you just did. Patching this game, and many others like it, isn't as simple as dragging and dropping a file, then clicking restart on the servers. Not by a long shot.....

Four to six hours to bring down the entire platform, patch it, test it, and re-deploy it is a small as hell window to do that in. This isn't NCIS where you have two people typing on the same keyboard, one of their most famous bloopers, and they solve the puzzle in about 42 minutes. This is real life, it takes many many people working at the top of their game to do it. Please, just stop talking about things you don't understand.

Yes, or you could you know not pay them and quit. But something tells me the fact that 2 months in you have 4 50's and a bunch of mid 20's alts that you play this game way to much and they could never please someone like you. Hence why most MMO's dont try to anymore. Go outside, live life. Dont sit infront of your pc playing SWTOR all day then complain they are not trying hard enough or that you shouldnt pay them to TRY.

Then why are these people playing? Something I never understood was with all the complaining these ppl do, why they still play? I'm sure most ppl in general chat would agree the game is good, yes it has its bugs and such but they are working on fixing them.

Sorry but most ppl who like the game dont come on the forums to whine about it. They are playing the game. So again I'm sure if you ask in general chat if ppl like it most would say yes.
