yep, it's like their 3 utterances can encompass the meaning that English would take 50 words to do so.

No they cant. Hence why I labled it a 'flippant' answer.

If you want my actual response its this.

Why should a game be designed around the lowest common denominator. Some people are fully colour blind, others red/green others some other combination. Heck, some people are simply blind entirely.

It really sucks for those people, I totally understand that. The problem is you cant make the entire game in high contrast black and white simply to cater for EVERYONE.

Ill give an example from my own life. I have inverted arches in my feet, it basically means that without some form of rigid support I cant walk for long periods of time (with the right shoes I have no issues other than some ankle pain).

I can either buy 1 brand of shoes that include this as standard, or pay for custom made shoes. I cant expect every single shoe manufacturer to cater for me because I am not the standard customer, other people want different things and like different styles. I accept this and I dont whine and make a fuss about it.

Perhaps a simple solution like allowing some subtitle text size options, or text colour options, would be reasonable.

As far as more voice over, I'd prefer--assuming developer resources are limited--that additional conversations were added to non-interactive npc's to up the living ambiance of cities and other such areas, rather than adding more quest giver voice over. Nonetheless, my sympathy to anyone having major issues with subtitles.

Ok i will be a bigger man than most people on these forums (In no way insinuating that you are indeed a lesser man) I have never heard the term "Flippant" before therefore i did not know what it meant, so in that area i apologize, but i myself having bad eyesight that cannot be fixed without an eye transplant, have difficulty reading depending on the surroundings, Hoth being one of these difficult surroundings.

It would help alot if we were able to change the colour of the subtitles or something to make it less of a strain on our eyes, i mean after all it is a game which revolves highly around visual so it just comes as commonsense to make it more visual friendly, to me that is. And also a bonus would be making it so we have longer then 3 seconds to read a paragraph.

Flippant means - stupid off the cuff idiots sarcastic response, often on forums done for humour. Its quite an old fashioned term, but with me being an oldie I cant help myself.

As for being able to change the text colour - sounds sensible to me, the only problem I can see with that is that as the cut scenes arent static the text will be on a white background for one section and then on a green tree for the next or across something else later on, meaning that the text colour needs to be constantly changing.

A better option in my opinion would be for the text to appear in the chat box like the companion talk does and keep it up during the cut scenes so you can scroll back through it if you missed something. As thats always against a black background there shouldnt be any issues.

Yeh that was one of my concerns, you might be able to see green easy so you make the text green then it shows a tree where the text is making it even worse, as for the putting the text in the chatbox, if you click on the chatbox instead of "General" or w/e it is to i think its called "Other" im pretty sure it shows the dialogue there as i accidentally did it once and wondering what was going on,

Another option is multicoloured subtitles, ie: White inside and black border or something might help

I thought it dissappeared in cut scenes? If not, the problem is already solved!

You can use the chatbox during dialogue and cutscenes i think, just gotta keep hovering over it, but the text is really small so in some cases makes it worse, just some customization in the size of the text would help alot, but they might already be working on that in the new UI customization

Personally I find the cheesy voice overs irritating and unnecessary. It's a video game, not a Star Wars film so it doesn't have to be 100% accurate. So if they were to put in an option to have the alien speech switched off, I'd be all for it.

It's something that bothered me in both of the KOTOR games, too. Especially as someone mentioned it's the same words reused. Bleh. And *** is with the Ugnaughts? Their speech makes me sick to my stomach. *shudder*

I don't believe that I am whining, or making a fuss, I didn't originally say anything about sight becuase it isn't so much about sight, as it is about a bad color pallet, and the fact that I would like them to actually talk, which is why I mentioned a universal translator, instead of just having them speak basic. You could hear the gibberish in the background, but the forground would be basic for you.

I also mentioned that it would be an option, for those that want it, or those that don't.

Also, with a universal translator, it wouldn't have to be different voices, or the original actors, it could be one generic voice for any non basic speech.
