Gaming is not a way of life it is simply a form of entertainment. And in the case of computer gaming there are many titles on offer and none of the various games exclude any gamer from playing something else. I play World of Warcraft, Rift, Star Trek Online and many many games on my various consoles and still have time to play Star Wars the Old Republic. Today I will check out my chars in Rift and do a bit of crafting before playing my Smuggler which I started levelling a week ago. Then later I will play some Warcraft and then tonight play my main Jedi after a session of Final Fantasy XIII-2. I say this because I believe if you have a wider perspective of gaming you are less likely to constantly dodge between games because for some reason you believe you can only partake of one at a time. To me there is gaming and not games. And I also am not playing a game just to sustain a group of invisible friends. Having fun is way more important to me. And I always have fun.

How is GW2 not an MMO?

Its not that the games have bugs or issues. Its that they accept having them and dont see a need to fix them asap.

In all the jobs I have worked at, if someone pointed out a problem I would get to fixing it asap and not be like well we will get to it someday. As a customer its fine that you will accept bugs and we know there will be some, but as a company you should not accept any problems just because they are expected. A company should be doing all it can to make a perfect product but this company isnt.
If this game is so great then why do so many people that love the game spend all their time in the forums?

I'm rapidly losing interest in TOR. The warzones suck. The flashpoints suck. The leveling sucks. It's just plain boring. I'll either return to WoW which I had played for about 5 years previously, or head to GW2.

That was true in GW1, but GW2 is much more open world like WoW.

Taken from GW2 FAQ

Will Guild Wars 2 be an MMO?

Yes. Guild Wars 2 provides a massive, online persistent world.

The other thing to remember is that they're comparing a launched game to an un-launched game. The difference? Rosetinted glasses and a lack of hands on experience.

I keep seeing things like 'GW2 will bury SWTOR' and they claim it is because of the lack of this, absense of that ect.. ect.. but in reality they haven't played GW2 from start to end like they have with TOR so they have no idea of it's quality or problems.

If they're expecting GW2 not to have shortcomings then they're kidding themselves. Compare GW2 to TOR once it is released and compare their state at launch.

I may have been mistaken then.. I never bothered with anything GW since trying GW1.

The fact that people keep bringing up TERA makes me laugh, that game is a grindy MMO made by a korean company..............and it failed.

Just because there will be more content than the original launch do people really expect it to be better?

This game has its flaws and those can be fixed, what can't be fixed are the delusional expectations of people and their impatience.

EDIT: Oh and GW2 looks just as boring as the first one.
