SWTOR Damaged My i7 2600K

seriously? you OC your system and dont take the extra heat into consideration?
games always push a system to the edge thats why most system test programs
run game type animations.... dont blame software for your failing to deal with
heat from your OC

I run a i7 2600k @ 5ghz and have no issues with the game, or any other application, for that matter.
It's clearly a hardware issue you have, either the way you've tuned it or something giving way under stress of overclock.

So....you had known cooling issues, and you're still speculating whether software killed your card?

While I do sympathise on some level as I have had my own issues with the game, like not rendering AA correctly (or at all) and watching the graphical quality toggle itself between high and low regardless of what settings are chosen, these problems were solved simply by setting up my system correctly to override what the game wanted to do using my own manual settings from my Nvidia options. But I'm not about to scream and ball about it because the games been out 2 months ... and next to Rift its probably one of the most polished MMOs released, anyone remember WoW at release... Yeah I do.

As for damaging hardware I honestly don't see that happening. If anyone were to feel that strongly then I would suggest leaving your case door open for full ventilation and reinstall windows and see if you still get a problem that way.

Other than that, I heard Guild Wars 2 is coming out soon so...

Im running the game on a Dell XPS i7 12 gb ram and a 1 tb hard drive. I have put in a Corsair 700 Power Supply, and a EVGA - GEFORCE GTX 550 TI card on a 23 inch widescreen samsung led monitor. Not having any issues playing at high settings at all.
