Unless they give us some way (through craftable items maybe ?) to add an augment slot to our current orange gear which dosen't have one. Fingers crossed...

What I don't understand is seeing as people want that fully customizable feel, why do they want augment slots to be on armor? Why would they not prefer to instead just allow augments to be able to go on any piece of gear regardless of augment slot or not? Don't they realize that with augment slots they just made all gear that's not crit crafted obsolete including raid and pvp gear? Yes, you can transfer all the mods in 1.2, but you won't be wearing said piece because it's now inferior to that orange piece with an augment slot.

If people really do want to be able to wear any piece of gear, allow augments to be put on every piece of gear. Just let there be a level restriction and that's it.

Orange gear is a disaster.

Simply having it ingame pretty much destroys Armour Crafting.

Same thing happened in Lotro, endgame went all about the Armour Set grind, all the people who has spebt weeks & months Armour Crafting got shafted.

Everyone will be wearing the limted sets of Orange gear, of which most is pretty ugly.

Same with orange weapons. Armstech is now a complete joke except for Barrels.

Why spend days getting to 400 in Armstech? Do a few PvP WZ's to get a moddable Orange weapon!

Bioware & EA Devs / Managers are STUPID, STUPID people.
The Force will be with you, always.

I hate the fact I can use the same armor at level 1 as I can at level 50.

I want that extra bit of juicy motivation.

I'd rather it if Orange (Or Purple) came with overlaying stats along with the Mod slots.

Add in the ability to Merge to pieces of equipment, so you can merge a piece of equipment that looks good, with a piece of equipment with great stats and have the look you want with the stats you want.

Your argument wasn't well worded.

Why is adding the ability to use a wide range of armor worse than only end game sets?

Armor crafting will greatly benefit from this on the GTN (once it gets some love).

Is your problem because it's not the color purple?

Don't worry, you'll still be able to use that gear also.

I believe that a good way to keep it alive would be to give them some aesthetically awesome and unique schematics, or even better allow armstechs, armormechs etc to customize the appearance of the armors/weapons by changing their color, doodads etc.

What do you mean by 'merge a piece of gear'?

You will be able to use different pieces of gear and still keep the set bonus after patch 1.2.

BW is also reintroducing the 'match to color to chest' feature.

The stats on gear is determined by the mods IIRC.

I don't understand?

(I'm not trolling you on this. I just don't understand yet.)

Yeah well that's you; I personally dig the fact that I can take my level 10 Orange gear and with mods make it as viable as most e-peener gear at 50. The scowls on their faces makes it all worthwhile.

Haha, I was trying to word it differently myself.

Basically, you find a piece of gear that has a model you like. You are currently wearing a piece of gear that has a model you dislike, but the stats are awesome.

You take those two-pieces of gear (maybe to an Armortech, adding more relevance to crafters) and they can take the Model from the Gear you like, and apply it to the gear with the stats you like, or vice-versa.

So:

Armor 1 (Great Model, Poor stats)

Armor 2 (Poor Model, Great stats)

You can end up with Armor 1 having the stats of Armor 2, or Armor 2 having the look of Armor 1.

Hope that clears things up abit.
