Even after the decree regarding the Saga era, EU continued to feature myriad colors among Jedi & Sith in KOTOR, comics, post-ROTJ novels. So limiting it to just red, green, blue, rarer yellow, and commendation/drop orange is pretty weak. I don't think Cyan should be limited to Republic-only, tho I'm not as interested in having it be available early on... but it wouldn't be a bad thing. 3 easy green-recipe crystals, and 4 blue-recipe rarer crystals (purple, orange, yellow, cyan) would be fantastic... and it'd offer a LOT more variety while leveling. Some servers might see a vast majority using purple or cyan while leveling, but I think mostly we'd see a pretty good cross-section of color choices among the players. Leave white, silver, gold, magenta, and black-core crystals for higher levels. In the original movies there was no lore for color crystals or crystals period that were invented over time.

"Redder than a laigrek's eye" May not be an accurate description, but I actually LIKE my red lightsaber, that is not to say I would mind a purple one, or a silver one for that matter. I spent most of KoToR2 looking for a viridian crystal and I always use that one after that point in the game... However, what does annoy me is the force alignment requirements, any force user should be able to use any crystal color, because it is according to canon "just a color" The only reason so many dark jedi use red sabers is because of tradition, and the fact that the red crystals are vat grown synthetic material and as such is easier to mass produce. According to the EU you can even create differently colored synthetic crystals, as the imperial knights show with their silver blades.
When all is said and done we're not the only ones who look at life this way: That's what the Sith lords say. And if they'd ever change as that reminds to say. But every time I see them makes me wish I had a gun. If I thought that I was crazy well I guess I'd have more fun.

Redder than a Lakgrigs eye or w/e sorry for the butchering of the english language there. was a refrence to the unifinished product of the crimson color. Unfortunatly they only got a year to put in Kotor 2 and that left hours of gameplay left out. :<

I have also heard that CS tickets aren't always correct. I would rather have a response. Surely by now, someone on the Rep side would have one? If not and it's still in the game, why not give us clues like they did with Magenta? Still wouldn't answer the question why it's not easily obtainable for Rep and Empire can get it at 50.

my mains are imperial, i support purple for republic infact, i support it for artisans, they need to make money, and not just the raiders, regular artisans do! just give the sith pvp'ers another black/whatever color, the republic have 2 right? black/blue and black/green? so how about black/red and black/pink or something idk why dont sith get 2 black/color crystals like republic!?!?! bias!!

Purple should be a recipe you can buy from the Artifice vendor at 400 and have it require 1 or 2 biometrics to craft. Simple fix.

This is a Huge amount of colors they couldof given us. And in the Beta PURPLE WAS CRAFTABLE Along with White(schems where there but not gettable for white But White Crysts dropped off the Alderann HWB). There is still existing crafting materials in the game that are used for White, Purple, and low lvl orange. if u know where to look on Torhead.
