Gotta love PvE attitude in this game

Just did nightmare bonethrasher last night. No problems and Im barely above 15k hp.

You dont need to stack endurance. You just need to get Columi to increase endurance passively.

Endurance is needed for 8m/16m ops, not FP. And even then, you really dont need to "stack" endurance. No one does this. You just need better gear that has higher overall endurance.

If people worry about your HP for their FP group, its because their groups sucks and they are worried that too many sucky toons wont be able to complete the FP. Not saying that you suck because of low HP, but thats it seems like thats how they see things.

I abhor PVP. I am just not good at it. I do not want it to be nerfed or anything like that, I just want my endgame PVE gear to be earned by doing PVE things.

Or we could make it go both ways, and have raid bosses drop the best PVP gear

As others have said, hp is just a quick way to quickly estimate the person's level of gear/experience.

If I get a DPS with 17k hp, odds are he's pretty well geared, does good DPS, and knows the instance/fights. If I get one with 13-14k, odds are he doesn't know a bunch of the fights, will kill things in the wrong order, and we'll be hitting enrage timers on certain of the tougher fights, unless the other DPS is good, of course.

Now, I don't really discriminate on that basis. Skill use prioritization, connection speed, spec, and so on matters a lot. And you never know if you're dealing with a skilled player with a new 50 versus a carried 50 without much clue how to play. But I do find a quick hp check useful to know roughly what to expect. And that helps to set the tone for how I start out the instance. Normally, I play pretty aggressively. My belief is that the job of the puller/tank is to try and kill the group without letting the group catch on that that is what you are trying to do. But with undergeared people, I start out a bit slower, see how they are.

Definitely don't want DPS stacking endurance though, as that would be bad, would sort of ruin the metric, since I view the hp scale more as a matter of their overall level of gear rather than stacking a stat they shouldn't be stacking.

Everyone who requires "geared" toons for anything but HM Operations is dumb as ****. You could literally take brand new, fresh 50's with quested gear through the ENTIRE game outside of HM operations easily, and just as fast as geared toons if you have one that knows the zones/encounters.

I'm 2/5 Rakata and the rest Columi, and the content is just faceroll easy. The only encounter even remotely difficult in the game is the droid in Karagga's, and he's been nerfed in normal mode anyway.

I'm sorry, I may be a noob in this, cleared all the raids on all difficulties, bm, etc. But IIRC you can't help but stack endurance. So if you think you are stacking elite stacks, and you don't have 15k+ health, then no you don't even have the same dps as those other dps players.

PvP is not getting love, it's getting something more along the lines, "Oh sh*t! Oh sh*t! Oh sh*t! OMG this is hard! Maybe this will help..." They paid a lot of attention to PvE in terms of story line and not so much for end game and they're trying to fix the staggering number of horrible errors they made in PvP right now. And yes, the best way to gear for PvE end game is PvP, it's quicker and you can't be excluded from groups based on not having the gear that you're trying to get in a group to gain access to in the first place.

What are you talking about? A full set of gear with mods favoring attack power, healing power, etc. will be HUGELY different than a full set favoring survivability.

Out of the whole group, only the tank's primary job is survivability.

Everyone else's primary job is either healing or dps. So anyone who knows what they're doing would pick someone geared to dps over someone geared to be able to take a couple extra thousands points of damage.

It's not about stacking. You either have the gear or you don't and if you don't have the gear you're not going to go in many pick-up groups. I personally don't run at all with randoms, I stick to my guildies but if for whatever reason you'd rather hang out with randoms then it is what it is they're going to assume you're undergeared and probably not that good.

Truth of the matter is, 9/10 times I see someone with less than 15k HP they've never run the content and don't know what they are doing. I'm willing to teach a guildie how to run it but I'm not going to spend that kind of effort on a random.
