Gotta love PvE attitude in this game

I gave up pvp pre-50 because I grew utterly disgusted with what felt like non-stop repeated Huttball matches.

I raid HM and NM ops and have 0 pvp gear.

That said, I still swap gear in/out for certain fights. I'm currently wearing expert resolve implants with willpower augment becaues I *love* the stats .. but I lose over 100 endurance. So, for some fights (Soa for example), I pop my rakata implants back in. Hell, in nightmare, I switch to a rakata endurnace stim, heh.

Without the hp you just cant take the hits and if you die then do you doing bad dps.

If you do the dailies for just a few days and have 2-3 columi pieces you should get 15k+ hp. But if you are still wearing orange's with blue mods then i wouldnt want to take you to an hm ops. IF that is close to the gear you have you probably dont do as much dps as you think.

The difference between having all the dps in full columi or more and having all the dps with 2-3 columi is massive.

Example: Hm 8man EV. This past week i had to pug 2 dps who barely met my 15k hp req. and had 3-4 columi and rest purple daily mods and we consistently wiped to the first boss the Annihilation Droid at 5% to his enrage. As a healer with every attempt i began sacrificing my healz duty to put in more dps throughout the fight with no difference in the outcome and i called it. The next day we came back but without the 2 pugs but with 2 guildies in full columi with a couple rakata each and we beat him well before the enrage ( sorry i dont remember the exact number of seconds).

This has been my experience as a raid/guild leader and running hm ops.
Since the OP is clearly talking about HM FPs and not HM Ops, I'd like to point out that if people are getting kicked because they don't have Columni gear then the group leader is an idiot. You can't get Columni gear without doing HM FPs.
Let this sink in, this game is Free to Play, boasts one of the most popular IPs on the planet and yet 76.47% of the servers are empty.

When creating a group I look for at 15k also, 12k-13k is a warning sign that a dps or healer character may not survive through the difficulty of a hardmode flashpoint. This vaires of course depending on what flashpoint I'm running. I know D7, FE, Battle of Ilum, and Kaon are the touger flashpoints so I look for more hp for those. BT, Foundry, BP...I think fresh 50s can run with the help of a good tank.

Only recommendation is do what I did, and that's what everyone in this post is saying. Build champ gear and then slowly start building pve gear. As soon as I hit 15k I started getting accepted for Hardmodes.

Total BS. I have competed every HM flashpoint and do good dps yet I'm not good enough for parties because of my 14.2k hp.

This game seems to have the usual lame PvP e-peen attude.
i see you havent met hm or nm first boss in ev or the infernal counsil fights where you have to 1v1 a mob that generally hit like a truck on undergeared people the fact is you shoiuldnt be going into raids with out a base of like 15k hp that should have you in near all columi

You gear up for what you plan on focusing on; you plan on PvPing? Go PvP. You plan on doing PvE? Go do PvE stuff. It's a grind sometimes but that's the nature of the beast.

Generally for regular FP's and some HM's having PvP gear should not make that much of a difference. But if a raid leader needs to choose between a geared PvP person vs. a geared PvE person they would be idiot's to not take the PvE geared person. Why? Those secondary stats start to add up, especially when you are dealing with a boss with a tight enrage timer. PvP gear with expertise on it? No use against a boss, especially if your a dps or healer. Extra endurance on PvP for survivability? Doesn't make up for not standing in bad stuff or healers not doing their job. Dead dps = no dps. Again, this would be from an Operations standpoint, FP's you have a bit more flexibility.

Exa. last night I pugged a 16 man KP and we were having trouble finding an off-tank. RL gets a whisper from a vanguard tank. Turns out he only has 11k hp's and a smattering of lv30 greens and lv40 blues. He got booted pretty quick because he would have been a liability, no matter how good the healers were.

Also, you'd be surprised how cheap some decent PvE gear can be if you browse the GTN every day. Short on cash? Get your butts to Ilum and Blesavis and do your dailies to get some decent Rakati gear, it will at least show a potential RL that you are putting in some kind of an effort to get into these PvE situations and not expect to just be carried.

with decent gear even if you swap mods to get more for your primary stats and power you still easily get more than 14k hp

the hp attitude is from what i have seen more towards those with only 12k hp (most of the times still in greens and orange with lowbie mods)

Personally I started running HM FP's at around 13K HP on my Sawbones and never had issues. Of course I level'd fast and was one of the first 50's so everyone else had the same gear level back then. Its just now that people are looking for more health since the higher HP pools are more common these days. They just want an easy-mode run. Sad really.

That being sad, I recently level'd an alt Trooper (Vanguard) to 50 and tooled her out in full set of mods etc. Upon hitting 50 with 0 Tier pieces (All modded orange and bits I bought off the GTN) with a Blue stim she sits at a little over 20K health. It was pretty expensive but this late in the game there are mods / armorings / etc on the GTN and tbh credits are very easy to come by.

The poster who claimed that Smugglers have less health, i would'ent say thats so. Usually appart from the tanks I have the highest health in our raids. I sit at 1960 Cunning and a little over 20K health raid buffed .... Sure I can swap out my Cunning Stim for an End one and hit 22K health but really whats the point? Dont need it at that point. To be fair though my Smuggler is in mostly Rakata pieces.

Bottom line. Vist the GTN, grab some 49 mods etc. Do some dailys to grab some 50's from the comms vendor and your good to go. Its not hard to gear up at all in this game, and although I would frown at someone who joined a HM group with less then 13K health, I would'ent kick them unless they were really bad .. they are there to GET the gear after all so they can have more health / DPS / etc.

Well you obviously haven't done any ops in this game if you think HP doesn't matter at all for a DPS. Good luck trying to survive long enough to do dps in most of the operations with 1 hp.

Health does not matter in ops. And no, you can do dailies to get rakata gear and run flash points.
