why dont players expect server pop to lower?

I dont think anyone would really expect the game to hold onto its launch numbers, thats just unrealistic for an mmo.

I think mostly people are worried at how much faster its happening than expected, and also I imagine its fairly worrying when you see large guilds with dedicated players lose half their player over the course of a month, which is a story you will hear repeating over and over these days...

1. All the bugs I reported in beta were resolved by launch, with the exception of one, which is just a nuisance (killed mobs occasionally remain standing). Even typos that I reported got corrected.

2. When the devs state, as they have done, that they read all bug reports, are you saying that they are lying?

3. When the devs do fix bugs, which they have done in a series of scheduled patches and hotfixes, are you saying they do this after having thrown away all reports that describe the bugs?

Not every MMORPG, but most. Several (including, but not exclusively WoW) have retained their initial peak numbers.

It's not the end of the world though as most MMOs do just that...... on the other hand look at WAR 100+ servers to 3 in under 3 years.
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

How do you know its "losing many subs?" I don't KNOW if what all the servers are doing and can only speak for what I see on the server I play. Population appears to be on the rise for the republic side of the server I play. Doesen't player activity on servers usually drop a little as those players get into log on to raid mode anyway? That has been the case in everyother mmo I've ever played. Its more like I see you in specific getting called out on a regular for being one of the loudest psychic doomsayers in this mmo forum.

Aside from those who don't care, congratulations, you're the only person who plays the game who doesen't know they raiseed pop caps on servers.

I've yet to read anything valid that your fingers had anything to do with it. This jewel of a posting is no exception as you simutaneously engage in the exact behavior you accuse your imaginary opponents of. Even if your conspiracy theories are true, this is a freaking video game and you need to get over it for the sake of your own mental health.

Video game forums are meant for those who like the game, not someone who preaches the game's demise post after post after post.

Er... no they weren't.

Well. Tendency is present. I started to play in february, and my server from heavy became standard in a weeksīs time. Equally I didnīt notice the drop while I was levelling in Dromund Kaas. But when I travelled to Balmora itīs me now and three other guys. Thereīs no possibility to do heroics.
Just sad. This game really started to grow on me. But population diffrences in some locations is just too paiful.

If you write "I need a raise" on a piece of cardboard and hold it up on a street corner, theres a chance that a hobo might read it.

Except two factors counter this trend:

- Asia Pacific launch
- Co-marketing with re-release of Episode I

Also, even if there is a decline, the doomsayers way underestimate the ability of MMOs to hang on well beyond their prime. My first MMO, Asheron's Call, has been around since November 2, 1999 and still has a subscription model afaik.

Aye, it's possible all the ones you reported were.

Dunno what happened to all the ones you missed though.
