The game looks GREAT as well as call of duty

My rig is running on a 25' HDMI cable, the newest version BTW. I dont see how this game could look crappy but at least for me, it looks beautiful as well as battlefield 3 .
Game looks like crap, quit lying to yourself. According to Reid their game cant handle high res textures. The high setting we currently have is actually medium and high only turns on in cut scene convos and space combat. Doesnt even turn on in the character selection screen.

That being said. Game decent looking? Yes. Gorgeous/beautiful/up to date? Hell no.

One day they will upgrade to DX10 at least but by then something better will be out.
Without me, it's just aweso.
i7 950 @ 4.0ghz, ASUS X58 Saber mobo, 12gb RAM@1866mhz, 6970 LIGHTNING, 120GB SSD, 1TB HDD, BWU Keyboard, Razer Mamba, PC350s, XFX XXX 750w PSU.
This game desperately needs some sandbox elements. Repetitive grinding is not fun.

1500? More like 900.

For 3000 you could get 2x590GTX's in SLi. At the very LEAST.

And wasting money on an underclocked card just so it can run stable would be a waste. 2 is even more wasteful.

For 3k you should be getting 2 6990s.

Whether you're an ATI for Nvidia fanboy, I don't care. The fact of the matter is that he grossly overestimated the cost of his machine.

Either that, or it's an Alienware.

Alienware. lol.

The thread is tl'dr... but without specs in the op you shouldn't be complaining... if you can't tell us more about your system then don't expect any of us to sympathize considering I've been running on high since launch and high AA (with there was more AA options) since its release with a min of 45fps in the fleet... 53-60 everywhere else....

either you spent 3k on a pre-built computer from bestbuy... or you're lying... my system cost me 1700 all said and done.
I7 2600k @ 4.43ghz, liquid cooled/ Corsair ForceGT 120gb ssd/ EVGA GTX 580 3gb vram @ 815 core clock, 1630 shader clock, and 2010 memory clock/ 16gb gskill ram/ sitting on an ASUS p8z68 v-pro/ 32"@1920x1080

i7 950 $270
gtx 570x2 $700
8 gb ram $40
1TB HD $90
1000 psu $150
26 inch led $350
case $100

- $1700 if you build 1 today without looking for a sale.

If he bought it a year ago, it would be around 3k.

Edit: I don't get why so many people on these types of forum so under price hardware prices. It is like "Oh that computer cannot be worth $5000. I can build it for $800."

Two things:

A. He only listed a single 570, it was the 2.5GB version
B. Only the CPU, GPU, and maybe monitor would have any significant price change from 1 year ago to today

I highly doubt one year would double the price of the setup.
Computer specs

If somebody was standing on a street corner screaming "This town sucks, I'm moving!" you'd think he was crazy, right? I quit threads are the same thing.

I spent $2500 on my new computer with an older video card (EVGA GeForce 285 SSC). I have everything maxed out and it runs perfect and looks great. Only time it chugs for a few seconds is when I first load into a busy Imperial Fleet.

Oh right. It can't be anywhere near 3k.
