"No Valor Because Player was killed recently" is self-explanatory.

"No Valor Gained" occurs when the Valor comes in too hot and heavy, and appears to be a safeguard to prevent massive kill-trading. It's not specific to Turret usage either. I have been in Ops out in the middle of assault plateaus and gotten the message.

Not certain how the mechanic works, but it seems to be on a timer of some sort. So even if you suicide, if you go right back to fighting, the safeguard will kick back in. My recommendation if you do get the notification, jump into the middle of the opposition and try to wholesale kill as many as possible. They will most likely kill you pretty quickly.

Once you have died, take a little break before jumping immediately back into the fight. Go grab a beer, snag some Girl Scout Cookies, surf some pr0n, hit the head, anything to kill a little time before re-engaging in the fight. This always seems to work for my toon and he never gets the "No Valor Gained" notification in back to back fights since I started doing this.

This is ridiculous... !!

This has happened repeatedly to my Guild on Tomb of Freedon Nadd. Seriously we are the most populated server in Europe and if you are in the Zerg you just naturally get to a point that there is a wall of Valor text... then "NO VALOR GAINED"

Seriously for a game that "prides itself on it's metrics" can't you tell this is just two large armies brawling across Ilum?

Seriously guys fix the issue do not shut off completely legal and fun avenues for players.

You just have to die to reset the counting. (pro system)

So in order to get massive valor / complete quests, the best way is to... kill a group, and then die, and then kill a group again. Oh wait this has a name : Kill trading incentive.

Bioware has no idea how to design PvP.

There is nothing "heroic" about Ilum battles. You being locked in your base by a massive army not killing anyone unless gripping them to your turret is not fun, nor is it heroic, it is just stupid. Even when the 2 zergs meet 90 percent of people hit 5 fps and are spamming their buff. Not to mention melee classes cant do anything without being instantly killed. Ilum is terrible, that is it. No punishment for death, rarely any great reward for killing. Fail.

I dunno. I think there might be some sort of bug here, also.

I logged on, flew into Illum, found an Imperial, then killed him. Immediately got the 'No Valor' message. This was my first kill OF THE DAY. I hadn't even touched Illum for a few days.

I asked about it in chat and someone said that they'd killed that particular Imperial just a little earlier, so he wasn't worth any valor to anyone. It didn't sound right to me, but I have no other explanation for why my very first kill of the day wouldn't be worth anything.

yep. this sort of behavior clearly shows that while this is might be a safeguard of some kind it just doesnt work properly at all. Thing is, some people get affected by it in a terrible manner, some in not so, some almost never get affected. So a lot of people prefer just to die after 10-12 kills and continue to play. But problem is that some people get it straight after 1-2 kills, and the worst effing thing is that, again, we have ZERO communication on this issue from Bioware. And this just staggers me. A lot of people are affected, there are reports of obviously strange behavior of this "safeguard" yet they do not communicate with us.
I just want to know what this thing is, and why it works the way it does.

Not sure if a solution has been posted as I didn't read the entire thread but here it is just in case. All you gotta do is take a death. This No Valor Gained thing has happened to me 3 times so far at Ilum and all I did to fix it was run in die, come back and I was getting valor again. It may be worth noting I also left the op group I was in and then took the death. Only reason why I repeated that step the last 2 times is because I followed what I did the first time.

So there you go, I hope that helps, and sorry if it was posted already.

Just die my friends
