They estimated maintenance to take no longer than 7 hours. Why the hell would your estimate be unrealistic in the first place? Just say 10 hours to be safe.

Secondly, by the 5th hour, you should know that you cant make the 7 hour deadline set by yourself, so how hard is it to post a short message informing the playerbase about the extended delay?

is the time and schedule of thousands of players a non factor in your decision makings?

In that case, you should read the ToS. What you paid for can potentially take the servers down for an unlimited amount of time just to troll you. This is, in fact, exactly what you paid for.

i've gotta be missing something in regards to this patch though. it's a seven hour long patch/maintenance/update. however, looking at the patch notes it doesnt SEEM (to my non-IT or code understanding mind) to be anything worthy of seven to ten hours hours because they don't seem to be addressing anything major. no major fixes, updates to crew skills/RE, or anything "major" (major being a very relative term).

so is it more extensive than the patch notes or are they actually putting in something not listed? i thought they were modifying the RE rates with 1.1.4, but i didnt see it listed.

or maybe my google skills are failing and i totally missed a massive chunk of the patch notes.

they did post it was gonna be longer then normal at 4 pm.. Check the maintenance thread.
