This is awesome news if true.
TELL ME THIS IS TRUE.

I am SO sick of using a buff and finding out that I'm now flagged for PVP just because one guy in the op decided it would be fun to heal a dueller ten minutes ago.

Not a programmer, but probably not a news flash to you... Point still is, I am thinking they have a testing environment that mirrors production (thus my choice of "redundant"), so that they can test patches to make sure its a sound fix to whatever they are patching... no?

If not, and they merely throw it in to production without first testing it... shame on them!

Feel free to correct my terminology if that is the crux of your feedback and not the actual subject!

Even if he means an environment for testing purposes... it still doesn't guarantee that there is no issue patching live servers.

They may have an environment for testing the base code, but I would doubt they have a full replicated environment of the volume of servers production has. That's where the bugs can pop up, if one server in the production cluster starts acting cranky, hardware failure, etc...

But this is BioWare, they won't let you know anything is happening until they are 100% sure it's happening. If there are any problems with the patch they don't want info out...just in case.
Failure to enforce the naming policy on RP servers is one reason I'm semi-retired from TOR. It's a sign that BW doesn't care about quality.

That's not what that says at all.

edit: and no, getting flagged when healing or buffing a pvp flagged player is not a bug.

It is fairly simple explanation. Since something might go wrong and the patch might need to be backed out, they do not post the notes until they make the go/no-go decision. This is to prevent the plethora of THEY LIED posts if they have to remove the patch notes.
Amdramnar shot first!

dcuo, wow, cox, sto, champions all post there patch notes after the fact. the only time they are seen before is if they have a test server set, just like this game.
