Did this game deliver on the hype?

I would say no, the game feels like a 2009 game, or even 2008. Its missing standard MMO features, horrible customization...generic as it gets. They didnt even pull of the Star Wars feel very well, plus all of the stories have rather underwhelming conclusions.

I havent played in around 2 weeks, I check in here every now and then to see if any news is out regarding upcoming content, any teasers...anything to hold my interest...and theres nothing.

That is untrue. Rift was a great game when it launched although the game is pretty stale now it was alot better than this when it came out.

You mean the hype created by the fans pre-launch?

No.

You mean the hype actually created by Bioware?

Not quite, but closer.

If you are already 50 then you lose! You should not be playing a new mmo. Every mmo player knows that mmo's take serious time to develop they do not launch complete! So far this game is a disappointment for me mostly because i expected a lot more, especially with the space missions, however i know that this will be a completely different game in a year from now as the developers roll out expansions-so the game has tons of potential. I am just relaxing playing different classes and am in no hurry to get to 50 i will let he game develop. Having said all that i am having an absolute blast with the sniper class i love the strategy it takes to play the class right!

Not even close, they didn't innovate anything. It's the same MMO, but Star Wars. 1-49 was great, 50 is just god awful. Great single player game, as an MMO a 5/10 AT BEST.

Personally i think that this game was all hype and that is all. It failed my expectations, leveling up to lv 50 was great for the first time but being lv 50 for a month and a half i can say that this game is very boring. I even made a new alt at lv 40 and it the fun i had when leveling the 1st time is gone, i cant even do a single FP cause it takes a hour of my time to find a party and i still wont be able to get one either missing a tank or healer or both.
Short form, no.

Long form ..................NO.

Yes/No.

It did at first, but then after playing for a while, it just ended up being the same old same.
Whether that counts as being delivered or not, i don't know.

i think SWTOR's biggest and almost only flaw, is it's uniqueness.
As much as i hate to say it, but other than being set in the Star wars universe, its almost a carbon copy of other MMO's.
There isn't enough originality provided to make this game any more exciting or boundary-pushing than the last one(s).
Its especially bad when comparing it with World of Warcraft which was made many years ago.
What has actually changed or improved here?

Who's hype? The fools who expected it to be more than Bioware ever said it was going to be or the people who were hyped up about the game BIOWARE said they were making?

My answer...YES! They delivered more than I expected...less than I want, but more than I was hoping for.
