The only thing I'd like to see is the different stances actually changing the stance.
Let them hate so long as they fear.

Or would they arguably be more enticed by the idea that they can make their next smuggler a rifleman?

What if it is the rifle itself that is all a subscriber wants for their character? After giving in to the darkside to play a playstyle they find enjoyable as an Operative...their options are play the same story, or go to the republic and play a vanguard (which funny enough plays similar minus stealth & heals, within the shared trees)...

Do these changes fit their ideal character that they are paying 15$/ a month for? No? then how long will they continue to play someone else's idea of a smuggler?

Realistically, how can weapon diversity be a bad thing (barring the arugment that everyone is a 12 year old darth Maul fanboy because assumptions make an...) ?? Given the fact that there are ways to clearly denote which class is which without restricting a player's choice.
I agree Completely with that, I've found myself getting tired of being a pistoleer on my BH and Smuggler. You watch the movies and almost all of the Bounty Hunters use rifles. It would just be nice since it would allow you to roll the type of character you want, as well as make your character more unique.

Bump:

To activate the sorcerer's static shield (the bubble), you need to have a lightsaber equipped (or some other weapon, I assume).

...Why? It makes no sense!

Trust me on this if someone wants to use lightsaber staff instead of a normal saber is insane. Shadows/Assassins get so gimped on the flashy attacks department. Infact if you think you will be playing a darth maul type character, you will be very disappointed.

I'll raise a contrary point to the "No because everyone would be wielding a sabrestaff"... I most certainly wouldn't. I'd *love* for my Jedi to be a Shadow... if it weren't for the Stick, which I personally don't like.

I don't think there should be *completely* unlimited choice- choice defined by sanity is good... but I don't agree that making everyone look the same for the sake of PVP recognition is as important as letting people have reasonable free-reign on their character appearance.

An awful lot of people- quite possibly a majority- never PVP, and understandably resent silly restrictions and game-play-breaking 'rebalances' that are only designed to make it easier for people they'd never play with anyway to kill them.

After all, with correct orange-gear hunting, it's possible to mix and match between smugglers and sentinels to a certain extent on armour (and I don't see any good reason to restrict it... looking at you, Thermodraft-Works-Quest which gives out one piece of armour if you're a Jedi, and another if you're a Smuggler... why on Earth not give both as options and let the player decide?).

Give slight stat differences that even out. So, for instance, take Sentinels and Shadows (or Marauders and Assassins). Give either the chance to use dual-wield *or* double bladed sabres- the full skill tree operable on either, *but*, equipping a double-bladed sabre could have a +5 (possibly scalable) endurance bonus, whereas equipping two single-blades carries a +5 on agility.

So, your weapon choice affects your combat- but it's swings and roundabouts.

I don't even care if it comes with no stats - just gimme some variety. If you wanna roll a sorcerer that doesn't even use a saber, you can't access some of your spells, despite that they are all force spells that do not depend from a lightsaber like combat moves. I mean ***, why do I even need a glowstick (cause for a sorcerer it's just that) if I do everything with the force? PvP identification doesn't even come into play here, cause in a sorcerer's case it's more like "derp he's spamming lightning from 20 meters, I wonder what's his class".

cause a juggernaut in heavy armor jumping around with a double blade like an acrobat would not be immersion breaking... oh wait.

Don't give em the double blade option, problem fixed. Let them pick from single saber or dual sabers.

I'd like to see this as well as being able to change your stance in combat (won't affect anything else). I do think it would be nice to complete your characters customized look with the way they hold their saber while in combat... i.e. like starkiller
