Completely agree with you on pretty much every aspect you have covered, it will be interesting to see how the game progresses in the future.

Some very, very weird points.

I don't think companions were ever supposed to be used for Flashpoints; they are very useful for Heroic quests though. If you turn off their AoE they won't break CC and they have pretty good AI.

Flashpoints are too SHORT. You can clear most of them in an hour or so. People complain about lack of endgame content but want less endgame content at the same time? Weird. FPs, on the whole, are nicely paced, though like I said, D7 aside they are quite short.

Operations: after years of hardcore raiding, of course you won't feel enthusiastic about them. Those who are burnt out after years of raiding cannot be helped. I feel sorry for them but it's not the game's fault.

Complaining about class imbalance is ridiculous, to be honest: there are MIRROR CLASSES on both factions, for heaven's sake! How can they be imbalanced? I don't care about 1v1 balance, PvP is supposed to be a team effort.

Bugs: every MMO, nay, every game is full of them. TOR isn't even the worst (not by a distance). They are being fixed all the time; yet people are complaining about why they fix A instead of B. Or if they fix B then why isn't A fixed already and how come C hasn't brought coffee to bed in the morning.

Many other things you mentioned (chat bubbles, LFG tool, etc.) are in the works. Would I have preferred to wait another few months for these to be implemented for release? Hell no, it's better this way. The game is enjoyable as it is, little things that are needed only for convenience will come soon.

Yeah, the engine's not the best, travel is tedious and the armor sets could do with a bit of variability. But it was sort of hard to take you seriously after complaining about Flashpoints being too long.

just wanted to say something about the fps.
i have an ok pc ,nothing special,i have never even once encountered a fps drops, nowhere, ever. Smooth 60-90 fps regardless of how many people on screen.
WZ,FP,even the imperial fleet on veela where it gets to about 180 people .
Not saying it doesnt happen but its not as widespread as you claim ,imo
Never been to ilum so cant comment there
peace is a lie ,there is only passion

no, you need to go to ilum. that where it counts. only place where it really counts, as it destroys the whole "massive" aspect of the game unable to handle more than 40 people at once

Once I read that, I discounted his whole post.

It is just a disguised "I quit" thread.

I do agree with OP as well. I unsubbed a few days ago and finish in two days.

Its actually really depressing for me. I really hoped this would live up to the hype. I love Star Wars lore, and only played WoW for a week - so this was my real first MMO where I dived in.

To be fair to Bio - I did get a good 2 months out of it. To give them credit, there is a good game in there, its just not one that will last if trends continue. Plus, the fact I found a mate online to quest with the whole time kinda kept me going.

Three things did it:
1. The combat "Stand-and-Deliver" method is just too samey and boring.
2. The Engine is struggling. I ran this game at about 25-30 fps
3. End game gets boring FAST (its just too grindy)

The fact that the worlds are getting less n less populated is probably the thing that did it. I constantly found myself asking LFG, but no one to do heroics with. It just made the whole mutliplayer aspect seem non-existent.

Much to my sadness to admit, I don't see this game lasting long to be the new height of MMO. Unless Bioware do something radical, there are just too many INHERENT flaws to bring this game back*.

*Inherent flaws like the combat system would require a complete redesign of the game and with all the money sunk into it, I seriously doubt theyll take this thing that far.

100% agree with OP and I hope BW reads this. Another thing I'm missing is greater character customization, being able to change things like chin, nose, eye shape etc.
Small things, but it adds up when everyone looks like clones (I have seen 3 mercs on my server who look just like me. Same hair, hair color, species, skin color, eye color, details..).

As for FPS: The people who are saying they don't have FPS issues must not be visiting Ilum regularly. Everyone, all 80 of us at Ilum, drop to 2-7 FPS - regardless of rig. Some have really expensive rigs, yet still drop to 5 FPS.
Also, try opening and closing your inventory. Voila, 2 FPS.

Op...for one..I donot have any FPS issues with the game. So cannot really comment on the engine part. On the patches...I have not had any major issues with those ether. As far as companions, you can use them to subsitute for a player in many cases. My friend and I run 4 man heroics often and successfully with us two and our companions. On the Armor comments, I really, really like the design. Having a choice to custom look our armor would be nice tho. On the travel part, really donot have a issue there ether. I have a feeling once you have played 1.2 for a while, you will be making another post on how you are quiting until 1.3 comes out.
Trust is something which is earned.

lol... so you're the one lover of 2 hour long instances filled with thash instead of real content?
