Who told you that you could level to 50 just doing your class quests? I'd like to see it.
Looking for a good woman. Able to clean, cook, sew, catch bait, and clean fish. Must have boat and motor.
((Please send picture of boat and motor))

Just come out and say it, SWTOR staff, SIDE QUESTS ARE MANDATORY.
For other MMOS, side quests are completely optional. For example, Warhammer. You can literally do the first half of the game, levelwise, on solely RvR(like PvP to some). And its fun too. Now, TOR is an amazing game, don't get me wrong. I'm just saying that there's no reason for all of the hiding and other stuff that they do...

In my humble opinion of having played through dozens of games, this game should still be in beta.
Last time I checked, my character is level 41 from mainly leveling through PvP.

You can if you wish to only do the class quest and then back that up with either grinding mobs or PvP.

Since the side quests are just that side quests they are not mandatory. You dont have to do them.

Now unless you back up your XP gain by some other method, space battles/heroics/flash points/PvP/grinding, then you most likely will be behind on your levels for each planet.

They are mandatory up until Tattoine

At which point from Tattoine on they are completely optional

And while I know your trying to promote faster leveling (with out saying it outright)

Side quests, heroics, AND FLASHPOINTS (plus a little grinding to keep people honest) should be required to level up!

Game levels to fast as is and suffers for it.

PS: Just my humble opinion having played your dozen and add a couple more dozen to the list of MMORPGs.

More beta wouldnt make a difference as EA wasnt acting on the feedback about missing designs. The content thats in game is fine and working and needs no more beta testing. The problem is all the stuff thats not in game that been suggested since beta started and never once acted upon.

Game is fine outta beta for what it is.

We just aneed a more complete game with socialization, much steeper and longer leveling curve, community building activities, houseing, slower crafting gain with quality of crafted product beyond exceptional or not, ect.

This game is perfectly acceptable as a single player (with multiplayer options) RPG and more beta wouldnt have mattered one bit.
In regards to lessening F2P and Preferred restrictions
In GAMING, as in LIFE,
You get what you pay for
No game restriction is so dire that $15.00/month will not eliminate it

I dont PvP at all. I dont do Heroics or FP's and I can stay At Level or 1 Level above up to about level 30-35 Questing. After that, some grinding needed.

Not sure what folks definition of "side Quests" are.

Agree, Class Quests, alone, are not levelable. This thread seems confusing, not sure everyone is using the same definition of "side quests".

You need to go out to the woods, and kill boars.

Side quests are personal choice I have two level fifty characters and another two close to max level (The games end planet is currently unplayable because of frame issues in mass pvp) amd while I did the side quests with my first character I pretty much missed them with the others.
You obviously have to do something to get the levels as the main story line will not take you to level 50 but what I do is lots of WZ I usually end up being beyond the level of planet my Story line is currently on. Sometimes I do mass murder mobs as well for crafting materials.

Side quests are there for the "forever alone" and "socially awkward penguin" who don't want to group or socialize in an MMO... this is you. FP alone provide sufficient credits and gear to reach 50 without side quests... (each planet has its own story line... if you consider that to be a side quest then i suggest you try to reach max level in skyrim doing the story)

This game has plenty to offer and the naysayers just need to give it more then level 30 and 2 months with 2+ million to reach its peak.
