Unbelievable how they just kick back and don't even attempt some kind of PR to address all of the problems. The performance issue is huge. For me and plenty of others, it's not fun to play the game like this. I don't think anyone at Bioware realizes how much is at stake. They won't even stand by their own product and address a thread where some problem sources have been revealed and is now going on 80 pages.

I could literally to outside, talk to a brick wall and get better service than this. Bioware, your very name is at stake. Get off your freaking duffs and do something.

I will be canceling my sub if I don't see an average of 15 FPS during Ilum fights from my setup. There is no excuse for a GTX 570 to be getting 1 FPS on Ilum.

I'll just go back to WW2OL, at least I have fun there because I can actually fight.

I think they do know, but know that the engine is fundamentally flawed and they aren't sure they can actually do anything to fix the problems.

Hello Folks,
4ghz quad,gtx480,12gig ddr3 and game on ssd -> Ilum 6-8 fps average (full battle, or even a drop solo from 60 to 40 when base get captured and your mighty bomber come across).
Bioware this is a really bad code in there, you have to stop beeing ignorant and start respond to your customers!

And this is not helped by a complete lack of confidence in the Hero Engine's history, ie it has not got any, lol

Do a Google search, the Hero Engine has not been used for anything, well, nothing that anyone can call a game anyway.

Some people are countering this by saying well it does not matter, they rebuilt it from the ground up, it's not the Hero Engine anymore, but if that's the case then why not simply build their own Engine from the ground up, and cut out the middle man, it dont make sense, no matter which way you look at it.

Bioware are perfectly capable of building an Engine, they already built about 3 or 4 in the past, so why use an untested, zero history, bought in a back room at E3, Engine for the most important project in the company's history for the last 5 or 6 years.

Does anything make sense anymore, in the games industry,

Nah, not since the Money got BIG, and the stakes got HIGH.

Truth is, the Games industry is now full of CV motivated Money Men, who care nothing for Games.

Rant over, lol

Sorry
"I am suffering from a cascade failure,
The flaws in my ENGINE are multiplying exponentially,
And my Death is inevitable, I am not worth mourning."

I think the problem everybody who has posted about their FPS problems has with BW, and the lack of anything beyond "We're working on a fix" is that we paid good money to play a game. And we can't play it. Worse yet, beyond our initial payment fee, they are still charging us the monthly fee to basically wait for a fix.

The game wasn't ready for release. It didn't get tested properly on enough variance of Systems. Whether it's BW's fault, or EA's fault for pushing the release, the problem is that we're paying for that error. Not BW, not EA, the consumer. People can say "drop your sub then" but that doesn't change the fact that i dropped 120$ on a game that is unplayable.

I like to play the game, enjoy it immensely. When i can play it. And it seems to have only gotten worse.

OCZ Vertex 3 128 Gb SSD - really good

Windows 7 Home 64 bit - new installation, all updates and drivers OK

Situation in a Civil War warzone:
I'm standing alone guarding middle, absolutely no one near, nothing going on:
my CPU at 80% , my GPU at 5% (5!!!!!!) FPS 35

5-6 people fighting in the same warzone: everything the same, CPU at 80%, GPU at 5%, only FPS drops to 21-26, varies

Sometimes FPS drops to 10-15 and the CPU is still at 80% and the GPU at 5%. highest ever GPU utilization in a warzone was 12%

While in cinematics and cutscenes, CPU is at 60% and the GPU is up to 99%!!!!
The FPS there, I don't even have to tell you, is over 110.

Not once the CPU in any warzone was at 100% or near, only time EVER while playing SWTOR the CPU goes to 100% is when loading planets, so it can't really be the game is CPU bound if the CPU is not at 100%, right?

So, please Bioware, can the game somehow PRETEND the warzones and Ilum are some kind of cutscenes or cinematics and ACTUALLY USE MY PC LIKE IT SHOULD/COULD?

Pretty please?
Yes the engine is broken. Upgrade your CPU to current gen i5 and i7 and all should be well. Your CPU is a huge bottleneck.

there is no guarantee that this will fix the issue. he surely will see a performance gain in other games, but I doubt it will be significant in sw:tor. experience proofs it.
