I love it when people say it wouldn't be difficult to implement.

They'd have to rewrite all the animations for all the lightsaber abilities to allow for three different options for each ability based on your saber choice.

For example, the ability "assasinate" does a cool spining thing with the double-bladed saber, that wouldn't work at all with a single saber or dual sabers...so they'd have to add in two more animations for that ability....and so on for everything.

Easy to implement...yeah right.

Color crystals being free choice = NO RESTRICTIONS <--- Change this BW, make color crystals free choice once again!

Again, "It's not stats, so who cares?" I do and, apparently, Bioware does. Repeating "But it's not stats!" doesn't suddenly make your point of view somehow objectively right. It isn't.
Ok, then how about making people pay a Legacy perk to pick up a weapon they can't normally use (instead of saying, taking a perk that unlocks a race, or gives some kind of mechanical bonus)? No hordes of saber staff wielding kids, problem solved. I'd blow my legacy points on that, for sure.

I do not think lightsaber choice is stupid at all when compared to what choices people can already make.

You have no way of proving bioware made the lightsaber style limitations purely because "it would look stupid, esp when they already allow so much stuff which is a thousand times stupider than lightsaber choice ever could be.

Consider that every single class has unique animations, even their mirror classes have different animations. It could just as easily be that bioware did not have the manpower/time to implement all those unique animations amongst all the various lightsaber wielding classes.

You chose the path down the dark side, didn't you? You should have stayed neutral.

Or they could...you know...just use the existing animations for dual wielding/whatever lightsabers.

OMG, you've got to add 2 ints to the skills table so that you can reference existing animations! We're all doomed!

I don't understand the fixation with the doublebladed lightsaber. If the light part of the lightsaber can actually cut through things like butter, then the doublebladed lightsaber would be unuasble for anything other than twirling over your head like a baton. If you actually used it like a stave, it would cut you in half at the waist.
Darth Maul may have made it's use look cool, but try to make those moves and see how many times the blade part would contact your torso, leg or arm.
But I guess I'm trying to use logic in a fantasy world, so how pathetic am I.

Oh really, all of them do huh? I think you might want to re-word that statement.

I said that myself. You should read my posts before responding to them.

Also possible. Who knows?
