How anyone could give them above a 3 is ludicrous.
  • Doesn't fix exploits in timely manner
  • Doesn't punish exploiters at all
  • Rarely responds to say they're fixing major issues
  • Makes UI worse with every patch
  • Ilum
  • Ilum
  • Did I mention Ilum?
  • No end game
  • No combat log
  • No Macro support
  • No UI mod support
  • CSR system seems to be manned by automatic robots (wait, maybe they're method actors?)
  • Said they weren't ever making cross server warzones, now they say they're working on cross server warzones
  • Raids are bugged to hell
  • Missing many basic features of AAA MMOs like a /roll feature (seriously)
  • Poor communication with community
  • Need I go on?

I'm going to have to give them an 8/10 so far they have done a great job with the patching and have shown a great interest in community opinion on some issues namely the ability delay and ui.
However having some of these patches contained some pretty big bugs which is where I'm taking the two points from.

I give them a 0.

They could of done something really great but they sold out and did a bad WoW clone with laser swords and talking.

I can understand it, the pressure from EA must of been immense with the way their stocks have been going.

But when an organization is under pressure you see it's true worth, and bioware ain't worth nothing.

A 3 at best. Between crappy customer support and a sub par game, Bioware deservers to take a hit from this, then move on and hopefully do better next time.

Plus, a terrible non-optimized engine.

Well, thought I'd put my 2 cents worth in, so here goes.

Didn't play at launch, just started about 2 and a half weeks ago. Not my first MMO either. I played that "other one" for 5 years. Yea, I played WoW. Wasn't too sure about this game at first, especially with the technology theme base and a more "limited" class system in one aspect. BUT, I can happily say I cancelled my WoW account and am going full time SWTOR.

1.) Community - I'd give this a 9. People here are so much nicer and more polite. Sure, there are the chat trolls, but they do tend to keep it to one-liners rather than 8 hour long continuous flows of nothing but pure garbage. This was a HUGE plus for me as I got sick of the trolling/spamming in WoW.

2.) PvP - I'd give this a 10+! The mere idea of being able to go up against someone 5 levels above you AND still having a chance to win was a HUGE surprise. Let alone the fact that if you play it smart and play it right, you CAN defeat someone 10, 20 levels higher than you. At the lower levels, there isn't a huge gap between PvP and PvE gear, so things are more balanced. This is nice and very important for newer players as it gives them a chance, to have fun most importantly, rather than being face-rolled like in that other MMO. I do see some slight imbalances between paired classes. For instance, the jedi consular vs. the inquisitor. In this case, the consular is under powered in comparison to the inquisitor. I've played both, and clearly the inquisitor is more powerful than the consular. The only other complaint I have is, the stuns. Your resistance to them doesn't build up fast enough, and you can die faster than it does. Which in the end turns into "who can stun the most wins" deal. And that is NOT fun or productive, nor is it really competition in the spirit of what competition should be. Less stuns, more PEW PEW.

3.) The "Cool" Factor - I give this only a 4 only because Bioware clearly made the mistake of thinking that EVERYONE was gonna play republic so they had to make the Imps more flashy to draw people in. This clearly isn't the case. The spell animations for Republic classes tend to be far more dull and mundane while the Imp side is all flashy and "cool looking". I know it's just an esthetic, but it does factor in the overall picture. One could argue however that it is more in-line with the persona of each side. I'd agree to an extent, but it should still be more balanced than it is.

4.) Professions - an 8, while usually meant as a time sink mainly, BW took an unusual path. Allowing "pets" to gather some items for you is VERY nice. However, I do think too many of the professions rely on the same materials that you gather considering the frequency they are around, from what I've seen so far. Being able to reverse engineer things is very nice. However, some armor types cross profession lines and confuse as to which can reverse engineer them. IE Synthweaving can make medium armor, but can't RevEng it. Clearly there needs to be more development on professions. But I think it is on it's way....hopefully.

5.) Cinematic - 3. YES the cinematics are nice....at times...and are important to the STORYTELLING, but, they can be a bit too frequent and long winded at times. The one major complaint I have about cinematic is the boarding of your ship cinematic,....you board your ship and boom cinematic of you taking off....but you didn't do anything...and if you try to exit, another cinematic of you going back down to the planet. Who says I didn't board my ship because I forgot my sunglasses and was coming right back out? I think the take off cinematic should kick in once you access the travel computer, NOT when you enter the ship.

6.) Transportation - 8. Would have been a 9 or higher if not for one single thing. All the running at that god awful slow speed. The starting run speed is just too slow really, and the trained upgrade isn't fast enough to warrant it being called "sprint". Quick-Travel points....to any point you've discovered and bound to - GREAT idea. You're very own ship in you're late teens, fantastic! One question though:If it's MY ship, why can't I store MORE things there than just that starting cargo hold? Goes into #7.

7.) Storage - 8. Again, would be higher if a few quirks were different. Like I just said, it's my ship, why can't I store more stuff on it? Even if it was not universally accessible like the "cargo hold", and you HAD to be ON the ship to get access, that would be fine by me. Might actually get people moving around more, going to and fro.

8.) Information - 5. Would be higher if for a few things. When asking a question or looking for a group member, you have no idea what that person is or what level they are until they get there. Would be nice to be able to click or shift click their name and get some basic info about them, like their class and level. That would be plenty. The built in way-points on the map, VERY nice.

9.) Stability - 5. It's a new game yet, and there will be bugs and crashes. But there are not infrequent "server crashes" where it says it can't find your server after kicking you out of the game. And the crash to windows desktop isn't fun either. But I'm sure these will get ironed out after a while, I have confidence. And I certainly did Not enjoy getting stuck on flat ground while running along, and the /stuck feature couldn't move me, and having to resort to a quick travel cool down wasting moment, when I was 5 feet from my objective and had already cleared through a lot and had to redo all over again.

10.) Overall - I'd give this game a solid 8. It's new, draws from a VERY popular genre/franchise. I'm having fun, so that's what's important. If you consider this is Bioware's rookie run of an MMO, then I would definitely say they have learned somethings from others mistakes, and have a smash hit on their hands. After all, it got me to cancel my WoW account that was 5 years old and was quite abundant in money (gold) and max level characters (10 85 toons).

So ya, I'd say Bioware did a VERY good job and should pat themselves on the back for that. BUT, don't take too long, I'm in it now, and me wants MORE of it.

When i first started playing this game i would say probably 7 or 8 out of 10.

Now i would say its probably a 3.

Leveling is to limiting, same planets over and over, no choices.

Pvp is terrible. Warzones are designed by down syndrome monkeys.

Also pissed about the fact bioware took a lot of stuff out of beta/release and is holding it back for us to pay for in their next expansion.

All about the money isnt it EA? I cant stand EA and i'll never play another game they have anything to do with again.

I,m going to give them a 7 overall

the game is great yes it has to many bugs to count but in time they will be taken care of based on priority. launch was pretty good. my 7 comes from there support team.
i purchased my first copy of tor and found that the registration key had been used. after a 24 hour phone call to support (with no answer) and over 15 emails I still have not been comped for buying a brand new game that i could not even play. after waiting 2 weeks after launch i got a second copy. after i was able to play i noticed my in game ticket log had my registration key issue posted. and closed saying it had been resolved. i then reopened the ticket and asked for it to be addressed again its almost been two months and still nothing.

however even with this game costing me $155.00 for the normal game $60.00 for each copy and $35.00 game time its still pretty dang good. and overall I'm not to upset that i had to shell out that much to play it.

i would like to see a server fix I'm finding that i have a very large amount of lag that i have never had before. maybe a time delay during battle like eve online did instead of laging out and loging back in to find a dead toon just use time delay so the battle moves in slow motion but is still responsive.

if those issues can be dealt with they will get a 10 from me
