The game could have been delayed and that may have helped but, I'll deal with some problems before waiting another six months to play it.

I would give bioware an 8/10, overall they are doing well for a company that has never really been in the mmo market before. of course they have warhmmer under there belts since they swallowed up mythic.

Whats gotta be remembered is that these forums dont reflect the main feelings on the live game and that the forums are mostly made up of destructive crit instead of constructive crit.

Solid 8 overall.

Considerations -

- Launch
- Overall bugs
- Bug and update corrections
- Gameplay
- PvE
- PvP
- Sound, graphics, etc

Looking at all of those and mixing and matching various scores in my head.

Cheers!

3.5/11

This game is boring as hell, the stories are lame, it's far too easy and I've never played an MMO that required minute long loading screens.

And then one of the product leads describes it as more innovative than Half-life. =/

Emperor has no clothes, guys.

6 at the start going towards 7 slowly...
im hoping in a year ill be able to say 8 after the changes.
too many bugs still so early
i find one place they went wrong was no open beta,
now there adressing issues that would have been obvious in an open beta
and already taken care of.
But my opinion is improving slowly with the updates.

Game 6.5

-Until you reach end game content then it is probably a 3-4.
Worse if you don't find ops/raids entertaining or think rolling an alt is fun. Playing through 60%+ of the same content (on the same faction) or maybe 30%+ of the same content on the opposing faction is not fun.

Regardless of a different faction or not once you've been through the game the game has nothing 'new' for you except your story, the worlds have precious little for you to discover and is dead, no interactivity, npcs are dead, worlds are matte paintings.

Toss in your story which builds you up to this 'heroic' level then drops you down to being a nobody.

Customer Support 2.0

-Ranges from barely competent to non-existent.

From the repetitive robo responses to completely ignoring the actual issues presented in tickets I've been left wondering if the people reading my tickets A) Understand english, B) have the memory of goldfish or C) are just messing with me for fun.

Management 1.0

-Same bugs from beta(upwards of 4months) existed at launch as then and remain.

Gm's/devs/CS do not engage the community enough or very well. Responses, when they are made, are often copy paste and ignore the issue(s) being discussed. It is not uncommon for canned responses to point to some dev post that barely touches on some remote aspect of the issue(s) being discussed as the topic is locked, and often the dev post has nothing to do with the issue(s).

A seeming lack of understanding that MMO's are not 'new' and launching swtor in it's beta state was a poor decision. Doing so meant that content (patches/updates) had to come quick and the truth is they are slow. If they are working feverishly it must be on something else as I still see issues from beta and now official launch just shy of 2 months ago. They may be plugging massive and extensive security holes and exploits which further degrades any trust that they had any idea of what they were doing for releasing such a poor product.

Low expectations for a major IP and a once well respected and admired studio. BW had such promise to make this a really great game and after 3+ years XX millions of dollars they released a poor product then didn't have the sense to acknowledge their mistakes and treat customers well. They have since maintained this course of blaming customers and ignoring their community while delivering more terrible CS experiences.

Instead they opted to make a carbon copy standard mmo from what I guess is 2007 or so.

Additionally as a 'new kid' in the mmo market the should have had a much better attitude towards customers and the community. When you come out with a mediocre product in a flooded market you should be trying to garner good favor not blaming your customers, making excuses and ignoring the issues.

You only get one chance to make a first impression and swtor has blown that for many people.

Overall I rate SWTOR a 3.0, it is fun for a time depending how long you play and how long it takes you to get bored killing people on different planets. That assumes you can get it working, keep it working, don't have the misfortune of picking a dead server or your server's population doesn't die off as you play. Once you are done with class stories the game becomes like most mmo's a grindfest that almost has nothing to do with what you did to get to 'end level content'. You are expected to do the same things over and over and this is supposed to be 'fun' and worth a monthly sub.

Bioware is not perfect but I am pleasantly surprised with them.

I mean, when they mess things up (ability cooldowns), they are quick to answer and get something else that will fix the problem. Other than that, it seems to me that they are really listening to the community. They (almost) fixed the ability delay ; its MUCH better now. Customizable UI is coming, a new warzone, LFG tool, etc, all has been confirmed.

I give a solid 8.
