Absolutely, this is the best way to play an MMO, but it is not a reality for a great majority of players. Not everybody has friends that play games with them, and not everybody has the time commitment to spend time online creating friendships with other players that lead to a guild invite, or less likely, a raid spot.

You cannot alienate these players in a triple A MMO like Star Wars. It would be bad for business (yes, MMOs are a business first, social game second).

We aren't talking about a cross server Looking for Raid here. Raid encounters will continue to be designed with the guild in mind. Flashpoints and Hard Modes, however, should absolutely be fair game for both the solo player and guild player alike. If that means a cross server LFD, then by all means implement it.

Bioware is trying to keep both ends of the customer spectrum satisfied.

Oh wait...nevermind. People just come on these forums to moan now lol forgot
First because it actually make the game worse that it is now

Second it will cause more problems than it solves. But I guess we should expect that from Bioware. Just look at their patches. They fix one thing and break 5 in the process. This will be no different.
If this game is so great then why do so many people that love the game spend all their time in the forums?

I never had that problem. Maybe it was just you.

You change the story up, and the setting, and have pretty much the exact same "tools" from one MMO to the next, I'm sorry, but odds are it won't hold my interest too long. I've done this countless times

As i said in a previous thread, these days, they don't even need to give you a manual for these new 'AAA" MMOs. Its exactly the same as the last 'AAA" MMO. So much in fact, i can put basically the same skills in the same slots on my UI, and don't need to change up anything.

Enter game, look for guy with thing over his head, chase purples...

nice.

crafting, why bother.

social aspect, why bother.

quick, more tokens!

I reject the notion that people who want a better lfg tool are lazy. They aren't lazy. They just aren't social superstars

I don't understand what is so bad about teleporting. Please explain.

Also, what is so bad about cross server qing? It ruins the community? lol. The community is already bad, how can it be made worse?

The MMO-Dinosaurs will always oppose these kinds of tools. Just take a look at this forum - it's crawling with debates whether or not to have ...

1. An LFD-tool
2. A combat log (incl. recount)
3. Macros
4. Customizable user interface
5. Dual-specialization feature
6. Addons
7. Shorter travel times between planets (there was actually a pretty long and tiresome debate about this)
8. High-resolution textures
9. A more user-friendly auction house
10. A barber shop
11. The list goes on ...

What all those people fail to realize is that every single one of these features (except for nr. 7 maybe) will definitely be implemented sooner or later. Guess why? Because WoW has them already and EA wants a money-printing machine similiar to the one of Activision Blizzard. Copying WoW's succesful and accepted features is the first step to said money-printing machine.

Deal with it.
1. Nothing against a LFD-Tool it is the Cross-Server which makes ppl rant about it
2. Why would a combat log need to be implemented? I personally don't care if it will be implemented or not...
3. Makros, yes i will welcome them as long as they dont lead to automatism
4. Only Cosmetics pls
5. Dual-Specc OK but Triple no thanks
6. I'm ok with it as long as no simplifying-tools like Raid-Warning or else comes with it...
7. Is it really so hard to travel from Planet to Planet? I dont think so. I vote for a no but if it were implemented i wouldnt care much
8. Pls, pls get them and btw nobody ranted ever about that.
9. Where can i sign to get it today?
10. As long as they don't start with stupid looking emo-manga-style haircuts im ok

COyping WoWs successful Model aint the way to go, as most people who play SW:TOR ar unhappy with wow and dislike some of its features...

How does a LFG tool make the game worse? Please be more specific.
