Darkfall does sound awesome... Its still up too i think. I may try it out but... i have a job and family... SWTOR is faster. Its like CS:warcraft frozen throne but with more cool stuff.

One thing about eve is that i could progress without having to play it constantly.
Leveling was automatic mostly.
It was just too slow to get into fights... I should have done the war thing. damn it may ill go back and try that out. if i can get some instant battles it might be better.
I soloed Ilum completing all of the objectives.
30 sentinel ,40 Shadow, 18 Scoundrel
Why cant we win at WZ's Universe at war RPGPVP progression Re-install DX9 for better perf?

I created Vlad the Impaler, my duel throwing dagger wielding stamina drain Proclar to counter Kru.

Finally met him on the battleground one day with Vlad, sucked his stamina to nothing in about 5 seconds. He cursed me for weeks on that one. Damn chicken barb.

Or so that's how it plays out in hind-sight, anyway. The way you view those things changes over the years.
This is exactly the myth a new player to fear learned... Rumors of Ebonlore, the evil empires downfall, of Ewule (sp?) making off with the gold, and Church filling the void - benevolent at first, almost the savior, and then becoming the corrupt evil empire with the white and red tag.

All player created/ controlled, existing happily beside and within the games own lore. It didn't matter if you showed up late to the game... up to a certain point anyway.

It's funny, we never saw ourselves as evil, at least in an RP sense =)

We were playing the overzealous religious institution that attempts to force its edicts on others.

Of course, irl we know we were being evil, but RP allowed us to take the high road and push it all the way through.

To us, Hing were the evil ones. We were saving the server from the Bad Guys.

I wonder if we'll ever have a gaming experience like that again. I thought Darkfall might be it, but it was just so...eh.

MMOs now, the loser still gets rewards, too! Yayyyyy! CODDLE THE WEAK!

So I can mess around and not try at all, half-*** it in PvP and still get slightly lesser rewards than the people trying their *** off to win the game.

In the end, who really is the winner?

Stop treating PvP like PvE. PvP should never be an instanced gear grind. MMO PvP is ruined forever.
Lag *** Powertech *** Helm of Graush
Sevv *** Sentinel *** Helm of Graush

I've been taking a break from Eve to play SWTOR.

The high-stakes PVP in Eve is great, but you also have the immense power struggles between various alliances/militias, with bitter grudges that have developed over the course of several years. There's nothing quite as satisfying as completely humiliating an expensively-fit enemy in small gang PVP and looting their stuff after you blow them up.

SWTOR is a fun diversion.

Good to see all the Shadowbane folks here. When the SBEMU comes out around the summertime I will be back on it in full force.

The PvP in this game is still laggy and clunky, it gets better one day with a patch and then worse with the next. There is no point other than leveling up to get better gear to be able to smash the ungeared people even easier.

I don't have a problem with this game pretty much being a WoW clone because WoW does a lot of things great. The problem is they cloned vanilla WoW. No penalties for leaving WZ's??? Really? They didn't think of that before making an MMO in 2012?? So many no brainer features are missing from this game. But they will slowly push them out to the playerbase and say, "look what we just gave you," when it should have been in since release.

I don't feel like the classes are well balanced as of yet. Sages (which I play), seem to be pretty OP. The ability of the heal classes to have still decent dps and CC ability really hurts the pure DPS classes since their dps is just not good enough against good healers IMO.

I've wanted so bad for this game to be good. The leveling up part is great. The end game is so boring I really find it hard to log in.

I'd rather the reward for PvP be crazy titles or vanity gear or anything that isn't better gear. I don't want to level up so I can have better gear to make it easier for me to beat you.

Oh I remember EVE. Work my *** off running repetitive missions in order to afford a battleship, only to get blasted to **** and lose everything in like 0.5 space from an ambush squad with a 0% chance of defending myself or escape.

I've given that game a few tries now, just not my cup of tea.

See ya SWTOR back to Eve-Online I go. This is a TERRIBLE PvP game!
I agree with the sentiment of what you're saying, but Eve is still terrible despite that, which is quite an accomplishment. Sorry.
