That's the path this game is on. At this pace it will become a laughingstock of a game. Gamers are a strange bunch. They won't want to be associated with a game that is made fun of or considered for children.
I know. I couldn't believe when I saw it was 15!! Centurion Coms per bag. Thought it was a typo LOL! The game that couldn't give away gear cheaply enough just became laughable.

Where's the incentive going to be once people have their Champ gear and are still in the teens to early 20s Valor. At least now there's a slowish way of getting gear that keeps you wanting to play. Soon you really won't see BMs because the current will leave and no one will want to spend that much time for weeks if not months trying to rank up Valor with current lack of PvP variety.

GREAT!!!

so now as customer i would like to ask BIO and EA some QS:

before u did this crap havent u considered that at WOW ppl quiited game when gear became so easy?and not only there.

when will companies realize thats its not ALWAYS good to listen to hello kitty online players thats wants to gear up in 2 weeks?
CAUSE i can tell u that after that 100% they will quit the game.

DEDICATED players were always the semi-core to hardcore ones... ALWAYS. at PVP or PVE doesnt change the result.

casual players are casual players they come and go..

thank u so much that u made me open hundreds of bags to have 10 BM items when im lvl 70(valor)...and now ppl can take almost same gear in 1 day(weekly QS)

i wouldnt mind it if there were war hero items out there ,so centurion and champion would be easier BUT with some VALOR rank requirment.

but no its free for ppl with 10 valor rank to get it. or even with 1.

now that u will loose dedicated pvp players(already i saw hardcore pvp guild from REPS quitting their guilds and leaving the game) lets see what u will do.

ILLUM doesnt YET offer us nothing cause of the unballanced of our server.

PS: i dont care for posts like "QQ no lifer now we can play and BIO did well etc etc"

im used of this.BUT i will ask u something.IF they give pvp players the chance to gear up with TOP PVE gear ,doing normal instances..HOW U WILL FEEL?

ask yourselfs this Q.i bet my *** u will ragequit the game and search for a new one.

BIO and EA must get that PVP AND PVE are 2 seperate things with 2 SEPERATE kind of ppl and needs 2 SEPERATE treatment.

ps:2 easy pvp gears with 2 hard ones i can understand.but 2 easy ones with 1 normal one SORRY i dont get it.how u will keep me in this game if i dont do PVE at all ?with illum??
pathetic...
fix the damn OPEN pvp with objectives or copy paste WH i dont care cause now we are quitting cause of boredom and zero challenge AND MOST OF US cause u mixed casula players with hardcore ones at PVP.

over and out.

Work....hard....LAWWWWWL Sorry, you didn't work hard for anything. Game isn't even 2 months old, you haven't worked for anything. OMG I can't stop laughing, people think they actually put EFFORT into something!?!?!? in a MAX of 1 1/2 months? You guy crack me up....

There are games you can play to get even gear, they're called the Call of Duty series.

Back On Topic:

"Gearing Up" for PvP is a *********** stupid concept. Leveling in and of itself is a form of "gearing up." The only reason people "gear up" for PvE is because the next tier of content is designed to need better gear. In PvP, however, the players are the content. If you continually make PvP gear increase in stats, so that PvE gear doesn't run amok (again, where is there a PvP stat and not a PvE one? "Inquiring minds want to know!"), you also need to make it possible to keep PvPers within a reasonable amount of "relative power" so the PvP doesn't become a horrible joke.

Basically, if the only reason you PvP is to get better gear SO you can roflstomp undergeared players, I am sorry but the PvP design should not be catered towards you. If the reason you PvP is to test yourself against other players, then you should be happy that it is easier for people to "catch up" to those in BM gear so PvP stats are more balanced.

This is how all end-game PvP progression should be designed:

1. Valor levels unlock PvP-specific perks. Example: Valor Rank 20 -- The cooldown on your Stun Breaker resets every tiem you die.

These perks tweak skills to be more useful, not more powerful, and introduce team-based buffs that can only be used in World PvP.

2. The difference between top-tier gear and current-tier gear should be 1% in base stats. There should be MUTLIPLE sets of gear with different secondary stat allocations. For instance there will be X-types gloves each of which prioritizes crit, surge, accuracy, alacrity, or whatever. You can now pick and choose the secondary stat bonuses you want through your gear instead of being locked into what the designers think is the best stat for that type of class. This makes gear a stat-customization system rather than a stat-inflation system.

With those two things in place, you can finally garner a competitive and meaningful PvP system that DOESN'T hinge on grinding out anything, but rewards you for time-spent.

does a wall of text mean that much to you to cry about having better gear than your opponent?

whats the big deal with peeps having the same gear as you?

do you feel you need better gear than your opponent in order to perform better than him?

just asking.

Quit your bishing

OH NOES! Someone is able to do something I already did but easier. You think you've been screwed over because you put more time in... That's life, deal with it. Stick a tampon in your vag and walk it off. This is how bags should have been out of gate. Not that stupid *** RNG chance, luck != skill/effort. You should be able to rock champ gear on your way to BM not after you you've reached it! You spending all the time to get BM doesn't make you hardcore/Elite, just means you don't have anything better to do. I bet you did the high warlord grind back in the day and then cried your little heart out when they changed the honor system... Pathetic

And besides, I thought your people liked farming?

high rng doesnt work for core aspects of the game. its fine for mounts and cosmetic items that dont have an overall impact

but when 2 people both spend hours PvPing, both end up with 10 bags, one gets 5-6 items, the other gets 1 or none, theres a problem

it doesnt make anything fun

Battlemaster gear is still better than champion gear which is still better than centurion gear.

Centurion gear just became extremely easy to acquire and now provides the appopriate on-ramp for fresh 50s. Fresh 50s will now spend less time getting rolf-stomped purely due to gear. Champions and BMs will still beat them due to gear, but not by as much.

Champion gear still takes a long time to get but it is now less random and more steady progression.

Battlemaster gear is still very time consuming to acquire and still requires valor 60. You're ability to grind all day long and get lucky on bags has not been diminished: future battlemasters will still have to do it and you can still be "proud" that you did it first.

So, whilst I agree with the general principle that gear should be too easy to acquire, in reality your arguement is moot because top gear is still hard to acquire (read: time consuming) and the easy gear is easier to acquire which reduces the gear gap which is a good thing!

Late-comers? The game is a month and a half old We're not talking newbies joining years down the road. People are just lazy and want instant gratification.

It's fine by me, I'll be one of the only BMs left because people will have all gear by the teens of their V rank and won't be able to bear the Valor grind with no mini-incentives along the way such as new gear

I'll go put my **** face on

I like the fact that there is gear specific progression in both PvP and PvE. It is a part of the MMO paradigm that I enjoy, constantly improving both my skill as a player and my gear.

However, progression needs to be predictable not based on random chance. On my Republic Gunslinger I just hit 50 a few days before the patch. From my first 9 Champ bags I received 4 pieces of different Champ gear, pretty good result. But I know people that have opened 20-30 bags and only received 1 or 2 unique pieces and some duplicates. That is far too random. The new system will make PvP gear progression much more predictable. In my opinion that is a good thing.

Once Rated WZs are in effect there will probably be gear that requires a specific rating to obtain. I don't have a problem with that either.

However, "Worked Hard"????, this is a game, if you are "working hard" and not playing because you are "having fun" there is something wrong there. I play because it is fun, the rewards I get for accomplishments make it more fun. Changes that balance the game more don't bother me in the slightest. In the long run they will make the game more enjoyable for everyone. Making entry level gear (Centurion) easier to obtain is a good step in giving people some incentive to keep PvPing by making it more enjoyable/competitive for them.
