Just like weather. It's for immersion. Hoth without snow?

Again though, idk why you would argue about having such a feature because they always come with sliders to turn it on/off or up/down.

Yeah, flurries isn't exactly snowing very much.
you knowingly said their was no sonw, then you said there was no blizzard.

pssst saying something isn't in game when you know it is in game is called lying.

Given how dead and lifeless this game feels, it wouldn't hurt.

The worlds are so bland and lifeless. Come on, these are different planets. Give us some crazy weather, night/day/dawn, etc.

Bah. The more I think on it the more disappointed I am in this game.

I like TOR, i enjoy it greatly, but no i don't think it's perfect and i think it'd more succesful than it already is with some enhancements. Day/night cycles would help make the game feel less static.

Again, i like the game, i even subbed for six months, i intend to play it for quite a long time. There's no need to deride a suggestion from fellow fans that could help make the game better.
explain how it is going to tranisiton between the different backgrounds?

Oh I'm sorry.. I didn't know counting the dead zone where you can't play is considered to be having a blizzard in the game. Yikes.

You're right, but this "silly" day/night cycle is certainly a good start, one thing, judging by the replies i am seeing in this thread, that people would like to see.

If you said you wanted random snow storms that completly block the player from doing anythign that is different.

I give up, you're clueless and it's not worth discussing.

I'm with OP, it would be nice to see "life happening" in the game. Wether it be day & night cycles, weather, or just people walking around more often then not.

Examples are what you seek, perhaps?

For Skyrim, it's a good thing to have - they make use of it and have mechanics rooted around it. It impacts the difficulty of certain quests or actions, and so on. It serves, in fact, the core design of the game. Further, their target system on the PC side is more powerful, so they can get nice art with the cycles involved (not as good as it could have been otherwise, however).

Take this and compare it to something like Mass Effect - the cycling wouldn't have done jack all. There are, in fact, a vast number of games where it would have been pointless - only reducing art quality and designer control over how the experience is shaped. Games like L.A Noire don't use it either, and to have done so would have cost them greatly. And so on.

They're not just better. DN Cycles have benefits if you're going to use them in the design of the game, such as if light is an essential mechanic or if it somehow impacts player actions, but otherwise you're just losing a lot for a very questionable gain.

The same way many other games (including ones that look better than TOR) do it.
Syff, Suder, Lieutenant Lonn, Captain Maureen.
Tassitan, Darth Vandicus, Agent Cormoran, Marin.
Blazerunner legacy, Lord Adraas server
